Severus used any excuse he could to get out of the castle - even if that meant ‘chaperoning’ a Hogsmeade weekend. Although he was fairly certain the Headmaster knew he would find Snape as far away from any students as he could manage. But he did have a few errands to run, his favorite cloak still had a hole singed in the bottom from that damned McKinnon, and he had just dropped it off to be repaired when someone clipped him in the shoulder rather hard as he was coming out of the shop.
“Hey, watch it.” He snapped instantly, without bothering to check who it was first. And when he did realize it was Tessa he had run into, he uncharacteristically wished he had bit his tongue. “Apologies.” He said stiffly, not used to the word finding it’s way out of his mouth. Severus stuffed his hands in his pockets, not really sure what to do now, but wanting to make sure he hadn’t offended her too badly. “It’s nice to run into you.” He grimaced slightly at his own choice of words, but shook it off.
