Nathan Bock ruled out for Round One
Suns selectors have definitively ruled out Nathan Bock for round one of the new season. Initially there was doubt surrounding Bock's ability to play in the pre-season games but he could be out for weeks to come.
Bock broke his leg last season in round 6 but is still experiencing pain. The Suns are in no hurry to rush the 29-year-old back as he has not been able to participate in full training sessions. He has recently returned to running with the group, blocking out a slight pain in his leg. Bock has not been able to fully commit to other training drills.
The Suns have discarded the traditional 'leadership group' for a broader leadership training program. However, the club has named three captains to lead the team - Gary Ablett Jnr (c), Nathan Bock (vc) and Michael Rischitelli (dvc). The Suns have traded in the leadership group formerly consisting of between 4 and 8 players to help build on every player's leadership skills. Read more here
