It had been a couple of months since Cass had actually gone to New York City, and honestly, the timing of this trip couldn't have been any better. She needed to get out of Philadelphia. Away from everything that had happened the last several weeks. Just a fucking break. Road tripping into the city with Nathan was the perfect opportunity for it, and it meant she could reconnect with old friends in the business, and hopefully reconnect with herself a little bit, too. Just let herself be completely immersed in the music.
The reason for the trip was so Nathan could actually meet the artist he would be recording with, as well as the other band members, sitting for a few songs and getting to know each other's sounds. Seeing if they meshed, as it were. Cass didn't have any pressing business to take care of, but if Nathan didn't want her hovering, she at least had things she could do.
With her lightly packed suitcase already in the trunk of the Chevelle and her mind completely free of alcohol for the first time in a couple weeks, Cass made her way over to the guest house, rapping on the door and calling out to Nathan to see if he was ready. The mid-morning sun was shining brightly, so when Cass stepped back from the door, she had to shade her eyes; one of which was still mottled with an ugly assortment of colors, the bruising noticeable even under a heavy layer of makeup. "Hey. You ready to hit the road?"
