I'm so in love with Mathilde. She is just the perfect Queen - to me - and she looks so good in her dress. And Elizabeth is sooooooo tall now. She is growing to be a beauty. The others as well, there is one who is the double of the king (not sure of the name thought). Love to you BE on your national day.

I love Mathilde very much too ^^ although Elisabeth is definitely my number 1 in that family. She has grown so much, and she seems to be going in all the right directions. I love seeing her out and about, she’s so calm but less nervous than her parents :’)

The tiny double’s name is Emmanuel ^^

Is the soldier behind the Belgian children there to answer their question? I think that's a very smart way to handle the situation. It's good to see that they're interested in the parade. I like that there was not only the military but the different types of police too. A great way to honour those who serve their country.

I’m not sure to be honest, I don’t know who he is but it’s possible he’s a protection officer for them. The King did have someone next to him, giving him info during the parade but I don’t think that man was doing that for the kids. 

Overall we saw them pretty often during the livestream and they were just watching the defile the whole time. The convo in the gifs took place right after the parade was over, and before the band started to play the European Anthem.

They did seem interested in the parade, and happy to be there, they’ve sometimes been fussy about being in public in the past (especially Emmanuel and Eleonore) but they were all so great today ^^ 

The Belgian Defile always has a military component and a civilian component which includes the Police, Red Cross, Customs, and probably some others I’m not remembering atm. I’m really happy about that as well :) 

This years official theme was “Proud to serve” which was beautifully done. A first for this year was also the NATO being included in the parade, as they have their HQ in Brussels. Each member (29 countries) had their flag carried by one of their soldiers. 

And a last note: the King and Queen were also introduced to individuals who’d been of “exceptional service” for the country, they were put in a line to shake hands, wasn’t much but they were all Police and railway personnel who’d shown great service to the people during a terror attack.

All in all a great day! And now they’re at Tomorrowland, which is hilarious to me. They’ll be back in Brussels in time for the fireworks in Warandepark though ^^ Mathilde won’t be there but King Filip will be joined by Elisabeth and Astrid :)
