Just wanted to give a huge shout out to my AP 3D student Natalie Nguyen! She had a fantastic year. She earned the Dean's Award from the University of Texas @ Dallas, TVAA (Texas Visual Arts Association 2020 High School Competition) Her sculptures are cultural and political perspectives of Vietnam. Please see the video of her works installed at the UTD Sp/n Gallery just before the Covid-19 lockdown. Natalie never had the opportunity to see her work in this gallery. Today we passed out yard signs to each Senior at Plano West. A whopping 1000+ students and parents traverse the massive maze of teacher's cars decorated waiting to celebrate these graduates. Every feeder school was represented. Kinder, middle, high, and senior high teachers filled several acres of parking lots, as a line of cars filled with families drove up and down each row. Most graduates said the process took 1.5 hours to complete. Several students told me that it felt like a graduation ceremony as they safely drove through hundreds of teachers cheering for them. It was a beautiful moment. More to come!
