Hello everyone! I am currently in the process of creating a comic that I’ve been wanting to create for a few years now. It's called Demon Girl.
What is Demon Girl? Demon Girl is a comic about a teenage girl named Kae who finds herself in possession of demonic powers. These powers come at the cost of her soul which she gives to a demon named Drax, but that doesn't stop her from becoming the superhero Blaze. This story is about Kae’s journey as a teenager dealing with normal teenager problems along with the added problems and responsibilities of being her city’s superhero that has to fight bad guys and deal with hordes of demons escaping from hell.
To go more into depth a lot of the main characters are LGBT and people of color. Kae the main character is not only pansexual but of Native American heritage, to be more specific Lakota. There will be a lot of Native American characters as I myself am Lakota and want more rep for my people. Kae has 2 fathers, Terry her biological father is bisexual and her stepfather Evan is African American and gay. There will be a number of other characters who have varying backgrounds and orientations that will appear throughout the comic.
My aim is to not necessarily focus on the romance (Though there will be some!!) but to focus on creating strong diverse characters that play key roles in the story. This story has a lot of supernatural elements in it and has a lot of focus on demons, hence the name demon girl. This comic is very LGBT friendly and focused, expect diverse characters from different backgrounds and strong meaningful relationships. Most of all expect excitement!
My goal is to produce not only this comic in a digital format but to creatively showcase the comic in video format using motion graphics. All of my content will be on YouTube, (Possibly Tumblr not sure yet) Instagram, and Patreon. Everything I will post on the 3 mentioned platforms will center entirely on my demon girl comic, so expect illustrations of characters, maybe small animations from time to time, and some behind the scenes stuff of my process.
I’ve only just begun my journey on seriously making my comic a reality, so I don’t have a lot out yet that I deem worthy of posting. I am still unsure how soon it'll be before I can start officially posting, I've got a lot planned out and I'm only one person and it's going to take me some time to do this since I have a job. Please let me know if you are interested in this comic!
