I was given this cup about 15 years ago. I do not know the artist but what I remember is that I was told that the mug was glazed with native clay from her grandfather's farm. Got my native clay (digged out of Peter's canyon creek) mug out of cone 2 firing. Not an ideal clay for functional ware, but considering just this week I digged out some more I will work with it. Stopped by the studio this morning to see if my native clay cone survived cone 10. There is this mug I made from unprocessed clay I dig up within a walking distance of my house. I love the colors in the clay now after cone 06 bisque firing, but the mug is not yet vitrified.
