Japan Kougakuin Musical College sponsored live event “HACHI-ON” was held on 23rd January in Tokyo, Akasaka BLITZ, 29th in Olympus Hall Hachiouji. This live is brought to you by the 19th Concert and Event Department of the Japan Kougakuin Musical College Hachiouji Campus students. The one labeled “1st Mission” was held in Akasaka BLITZ and starred sumika and My Hair is Bad, “2nd Mission” was held in Olympus Hall Hachiouji and featured Sakou Tomohisa and Natsushiro Takaaki.
Natalie Music went to see Sakou and Natsushiro’s performance in Olympus Hall Hachiouji and wrote a report, then held a symposium with Sakou, Natsushiro, and the students. Let’s reminisce on the report written about the Akasaka BLITZ performance the other day (Reference) and the Olympus Hall Hachiouji performance (Reference).

Ooishi Kaho: I am Ooishi from the Concert PA course. I did the microphone settings today.
Mitsumura Anzu: I am Mitsumura from the Stage Lighting course. I was in charge of the moving lights during Sakou-san’s Getta Banban and Ai Kotoba -special ver.- today.
Nagahama Atsuna: I am Nagahama from the Concert Stage course. Today, I was in charge of assisting stage supervision and attending to the artists.
Ooishi Miyu: I am Ooishi from the Event Planning course. I was responsible for planning the collaboration between this live concert and the local specialty restaurant, Hachiouji Napolitan.
Yamashita Sayuri: I am Yamashita from the Concert Production course. I was the overall chief.
Niida Miki: I am Niida from the Concert Production course. I was in charge of the parking space’s security below.
Sakou: Wah, thanks for all the hard work in this cold!
--- Today’s reservation is Niida-san’s proposal to the teacher, right?
Niida: Yes, since I am a really big fan....
Natsushiro: Thank you! Today was really really fun.
Sakou: (While looking at Natsushiro) It was great, right?
Natsushiro: The perfect line-up was chosen, isn’t it? (lol)
Niida: I’ve been thinking that both of you have been having recitals at the same time, but never had a two man live together.
Mitsumura: When information for this live had been announced, Natsushiro-san tweeted, “It’s a date with Sakou-san!” How was the date?
Natsushiro: Ahaha (lol). It was really fun!
Mitsumura: Are the two of you close even in your private time?
Sakou: We sometimes go to eat together in our private time. But when I invited him that one time, he rejected by saying “I am playing games right now, so...” (lol).

Ooishi Kaho: Have the two of you known each other since a long time ago?
Natsushiro: I’ve one-sidedly known him from a long time. Because I have Tomohisa and Soraru-san’s collaboration album, Space Ship, you see?
Sakou: Really!?
Natsushiro: At the time, I was living in Fukui, and I heard it was sold at the live venue (the event, THE VOC@LOiD M@STER 14, held in November 2011 in Tokyo, Sunshine City Cultural Building 3F Exhibition Hall C) so I went by night bus to buy it. “Are you T-kun?” ( ※ Sakou is also known as ShounenT) I said and even gotten a handshake.
Sakou: Ehh!? So that was when I was selling it myself! That’s amazing (lol).
Natsushiro: That’s why I was a bit scared at first. I’ve known Tomohisa in the first place so, “Is it okay if I speak to this guy?”, I’ve had such a feeling.
Sakou: So that was how it is. Well, now we are friends who even went to Okinawa together (lol).
Nagaham: Is it for vacation?
Sakou: Yeap, 7 guys together on a 3 day 4 nights trip. We went diving and when we told the diver, “There are 7 guys”, he was shocked the diver and went, “Eh!?” (lol).
Natsushiro: We were like elementary school children, going ‘kyakya’ when we play, weren’t we? Tomohisa is really good at swimming!
Sakou: I am a licensed instructor for swimming, skiing, and snowboarding. Whether it winter or summer, “come at me!” Like that (lol). I like sports I can do by myself.
ZimuinG Who Was Surrounded by 20 People
--- During the rehearsal before the performance, I think you had to deal with the students, how was it like to work with the students?
Natsushiro: Well, there was really nothing to worry about.
Sakou: We were treated really politely.
Natsushiro: When one of the band member, ZimuinG’s keyboard couldn’t make any sound, he was surrounded by about 20 people to solve the problem. Although in the end, it turns out that ZimuinG was the one who inserted the cord wrongly... (lol).
Sakou: Yeap, that was it (lol).
--- Students, for today’s sake, what have you all been working on?
Ooishi Kaho: I was in charge of the microphone settings, so I decided on what kind of microphones to use, or so the stands won’t fall in the middle of the performance I cleaned it.
Sakou: Wah, thank you very much! During the acoustic segment, because I was holding a guitar, it must’ve been difficult to adjust the stand lower, isn’t it? (lol).
Mitsumura: During my way back from school, I keep listening to Getta Banban and Ai Kotoba -special ver.-, and did image training, “During this part, what kind of lighting would be good?”
Sakou: I am really really happy. Before the live, I too had imagined it, “During this song, it would be nice if I can get this kind of illumination...”
Natsushiro: And how was it today?
Sakou: I didn’t think “I would’ve liked it this way better” at all. During the song, the illumination fit perfectly, I was able to have fun!
Finding one thing to like
--- I think both of you will see the same staffs again who just started out with PA and lighting. To the students, what kind of staffs do you want them to be?
Sakou: As expected, I am happy when someone talks to me. Communicating with me like, “How is this?”. Of course skills are also important, but I want to receive help from that person because I like their personality. If I do it with someone who has love, it will certainly be a good live.
Natsushiro: When PA-san criticized, “I want to let the audience be able to hear this part easier.”, and adjust the sound for me, I was so happy when someone with love think for me like that.
Sakou: That’s why I said, when the staffs listened to my music and Nacchiro (Natsushiro)’s music, and think for us, that’s when I am happiest. And then, to be able to be the first ones that everyone here have to take care of, I am really honoured. From now on, I think I will always remember today’s live.
Natsushiro: I think this will also stay in my heart. When everyone already have children, I want to be someone whose kids you can say “I was a staff in Sakou Tomohisa and Natsushiro Takaaki’s live” to.
Sakou: Yeap. If everyone is already an adult and, “Oh yeah, there was someone called Sakou Tomohisa and Natsushiro Takaaki” “Aah! We weren’t able to sell the tickets-!” I don’t want such a thing (lol).
Natsushiro: That will be sad! (lol) As part of everyone’s memories, we have to keep working harder than before too!
--- Lastly, as a senior who has been working in the music world, please give some advice to the students.
Natsushiro: As expected, isn’t it best if we keep doing the things we like happily? Even outside work it’s okay, even at work, that’s also great, but if you are able to find that one thing you like doing, life will be much more fun, I think. We just happen to be doing music, but no matter if it’s drawing, dancing, or whatever, I think it’s okay. To be able to say you like something with confidence, let’s enjoy life.
Sakou: I really think so too. If you happen to walk down a different path than the one you thought, that’s also okay, I think. Please have something you like enough to make it your core. And I’ve said this before, but I am really honoured to work with everyone here to make this live happen, and I am really happy to be everyone’s graduation project. To be able to go on while thinking, “It would be nice if we could meet again somewhere”, let’s work hard together.
