Immersion through Interaction
(Can Natural and Physical interaction improve or amplify player engagement?)
I recently played and completed gone home for the first time, I was impressed by the emotional engagement that was possible with such limited mechanics. I think it would be a worth while exercise to try and emulate this with a similar narrative driven gameplay experience but using nothing but simple and natural input to see it the physicality of the interaction adds to the emotional attachment or level of player engagement. I have already heard and seen evidence that Virtual Reality can make players slow down, notice small details they usually wouldn't and just look at the environment enjoying the space around them, Perhaps the type of input can cause a similar effect in conjunction with VR or as a non VR experience.
