The model Charisse Rene represents a #melanin #curly #naturalhaired lady. She stood at the corner of 17th St and Peachtreet Street wearing a t-shirt statement about her hair. People of color in the early days in Atlanta did not have this kind of time to stand on a corner. They worked in the owner's homes or in the fields. In most cases, they received no pay. Her hand rests against one of the street poles where the Phoenix symbol is seen on many cascading light poles on the corridors of Peachtree Street and through out the city of Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The Phoenix is a great symbol of Atlanta. It represents very literally the rebirth of Atlanta out of the ashes after it was burned down in the Civil War. Atlanta has grown to be the Super City of the South because of it's diversity and new expansion. Yes, racism and hatred exists. Remember the movie "Gone With The Wind"? Whatever land we stand on Peachtree Street or in other places around the world, we are God's rainbow children. God is Love. Love is God. Many religions, cultures and traditions exist here. In Atlanta, We must Rise Up! The Peachtree Street Photography Project in Atlanta #PSPPATL represents the old and the new of people and places. #discoveratl #chooseatl #E37Photography #dancer #fit #teamnatural (at Atlanta, Georgia, USA)
