Tool Making

On Monday I took part in a tool making workshop. We went for a walk to gather materials we thought would make interesting marks. I found this exercise really enjoyable as it opened up my eyes to the many different ways you can apply marks to a page with any materials you have on and hand. I would love to try this with objects in my home and recycled plastics, this is a really sustainable way of making art which was an especially exciting revelation :)

I've been using these tools to wash my dishes all my life, they are cheap, you can wash them and boil them to kill bacteria, they are very cheap and best of all they are natural and truly 100 percent biodegradable! The estropajo (not the brush) you can even use it to wash your body, it's a great way to exfoliate your skin. You can find these in most Mexican stores, mercados, botanicas, etc, they are about fifty cents to one dollar or so. {lunch} Today was one of those days that started off track with my food. We're pretty much out {time to go grocery shopping} so I grabbed a mango. Took one of my girls to volunteer at a therapeutic horse program {we need to be there at 8}, we're on the barn team {cleaning stalls & loving on the horses} and we also lead the horses out to the pasture. It's so much fun. I was super hungry by the time we left. We ended up stopping at 7-11 on the way home and somehow I ended up with coffee & chocolate {oops}. Then came the tummy ache and the guilt. I quickly decided to let it go, move on and get back on track. {motivate} I'll have 5 kids or more in my house this afternoon until tmrw. {my tools} I bring my oils everywhere I go because I seem to always need them. {sleepover} I made a sleepover blend for my 11 year old for the weekend. She gets a little nervous about being around a bunch of kiddos and about sleeping away. Especially lately when she's had some worries before bed, we've been oiling up and done eft tapping almost every night.
