Sunday and the word of light and joy. /czasem czuwasz, a czasem śpisz.
then they told their story
of what had happened on the road
you have been with me from the beginning
/today’s favourite.
Better one day in your courts
than a thousand at my own devices.
My inner thoughts is what keeps me up
They are Loud , n chaotic
There’s no space anywhere to make a clear thought
Foggy n thick, the drops of rain leave my eyes like condense clouds
The water races down my cheek hitting the corner of my mouth
i don’t even bother to wipe my face …
Moody selfie, standing in the woods, or what used to be a 100 acre wood near my home where I’ve walked for the past 14 years, learning all its nooks and crannies. All spring and summer I’ve been cringing at the sound of logging in those woods. This evening I finally steeled myself to go check out the damages. It is both worse than and not as bad as I feared. So many beautiful spots — ferny, mossy, mushroomy paths ground to mud that has since dried to dust, natural pools and marshes exposes to the sun and dried up, and these pictures taken in what was once a favorite glen where I routinely stood to pray/meditate in 4 directions, now a parking lot for stacks of logs and monster logging vehicles.... but the trees that remain, parentless, are telling me they are okay, the will grow, they will do their best to fill in the gaps. And enough remains that I’m not anticipating a new development replacing these woods at least not soon. But still, feeling sad to see the violence of it all. And grateful for the young spotted deer who popped up out of the brush when I walked by, and held my gaze for a long minute before bounding away. And this little frog (toad?) thriving in the shady habitat of my backyard garden, where I let the weeds take over, replacing the greens the woodchuck favored this spring. Okay, so I don’t have kale, but steamed pig weed and lambs quarters is as tender and delicious as any spinach. The woodchuck is happy and I have plenty of color on my plate. Still grateful. . . . #naturenurtures #naturenotes #selfie #environment #ctlife #hike #woods #inspiredbynature #encironmental #toads https://www.instagram.com/p/CDc6TGGnAqy/?igshid=xaixrq3qek1b
The #americanmuseumofnaturalhistory was the first #museumshop to order my #naturenotes #notecards and since then they have been sold in many museum shops. Right now they are in #Islipartmuseum #shop. My first #websitebuilder had suggested that I make cards to sell at my #exhibits and it snowballed. #photography #cards #nature #isliparts #notecardart #notecardset https://www.instagram.com/p/B-5MuW9nH-P/?igshid=67xmptyqnrk2
