The #IndianArmy said Thursday that it has restored an old and damaged #grave of a #Pakistani #officer in #Naugam sector of #Kupwara district in #JammuandKashmir. The #Pakistaniofficer was killed in 1972 close to the fence on the $LineofControl (#LoC). As per the #Army, the grave belonged to #PakistanArmy Major Mohd Shabir Khan who was killed in action at a forward location along the LoC more than four decades ago. #Srinagar-based Chinar Corps tweeted a photograph of the epitaph on the grave which read: "In memory of Major Mohd Shabir Khan, Sitara-e-Jurrat, Shahid, 05 May 1972, 1630 H, killed in a counter attack by 9 Sikh". In a tweet, Chinar Corps said, "A fallen soldier, irrespective to the country he belongs to, deserves respect and honour in death. Indian army stands with this belief. This is #Indianarmy for the world."
