What did you think of The Doctor's Wife, then? Just curious, since that seems to be the exception for a lot of people.

Yeah, it's definitely been the highlight of the season for me. Neil Gaiman is one of my favourite writers and the episode is really one for people who've watched the show a long time, as it plays off the Doctor's mentality and experiences. I think a lot has to be said for Matt Smith's acting, as well: I really don't think David Tennant or his million teeth could've summoned the kind of quiet badass Smith gives to Eleven.

Amy and Rory are really just a side plot in the episode, but I think it works well because they're supposed to take a backburner for the Doctor and Idris, who were stunning together.

It's kind of sad that the best episode of your show's season was written by a dude who you've never worked with before tbh
