Herp of the day: Osborne's Lancehead

The Osborne's Lancehead (Bothrops osbornei) is venomous pitviper species from south America that inhabits the forests of Peru and Ecuador.

Adults commonly grow to more than 100 cm in length and may exceed 150 cm. The shape of the body and long tail suggest that it is semi arboreal. The head is long and lance-shaped and the fangs exceptionally long.

#yogahollis . . Nauyaca Waterfalls When one of your dearest friends tell you to leave your country and ‘come to Costa Rica!’, you GO! 😄🇨🇷 Pura Vida! Hiking in the rain (it’s the rainy season) to this magical spot hidden in the mountains of the South Pacific coast of Costa Rica, well known as one of the most amazing waterfalls in the country because of its exuberant scenic beauty. The hike was about 4.75 mile (7.64 km) round trip. It was at times some STEEP rocky, loose gravel trails, wet from the rain and lots of mud! It’s was a serious and fun hike at times in pouring rain!
