Nondual preaching, in practice, serves power structures very well. Why?
Ego as “illusion” means your hunger, exhaustion, or rage are rebranded as “just stories.” Convenient for employers, abusers, and priests because you shut up instead of acting.
“You are one with everything” means: accept exploitation, dissolve boundaries, take more work, swallow mistreatment abuse because resistance is “ego.”
Death as merging means: your individuality, suffering, and rebellion don’t matter. You’re just a wave returning to the ocean. Nice narcotic.
In other words: nonduality is a moral anesthesia. It doesn’t free you, it neutralizes you. It makes you more compliant to systems (capitalism, family hierarchies, cults).
Whereas, listen your inner witness when rgo says: “Stop, more work = heart attack.” That is not illusion. That is your body’s protective alarm. To dissolve that into “oneness” is literally suicidal.
Ego as “I = ultimate truth” is delusion.
Ego as “inner soldier” is biological fact.
Ego as “illusion to dissolve” is ideology, not liberation.
Ego is a useful mechanism that saves your life and nature gave you this mechanism for a reason.
