☀️“Ma Chérie”☀️

“A day after the flood in Fontaine Navia goes to check up on Chiori.”

Notes: I have to spread the Naviori propaganda because guys… **head in hands** they’re my everything. God, sometimes i forget as a writer i can just make characters do things.

Navia walked down the street, her umbrella held over her head to protect herself from the sun’s rays. It had only been a day since the flood waters receded and to say the humidity had gotten out of control was an understatement. The weather mixed with tirelessly cleaning up Poisson was exhausting her, but the people needed safe places to sleep, so she simply couldn’t take a break outside of the couple hours of sleep she grabbed last night.

Navia, however, managed to find some free time to check in on Chiori. She hadn’t seen her during the initial flood which worried her, but she hadn’t given herself enough time to linger on it. She knew rationally Chiori was fine as Clorinde had seen her before the waters went down, but she couldn’t help but itch to confirm it with her own eyes.

That weed of desperation had quickly grown larger with every passing second she hadn’t located her. Chiori wasn’t at her place and she even did the long detour to the cliff over the lake in case she went there.If she wasn’t at her boutique then she would have to go confront Clorinde and ask very politely if she was sure she saw Chiori at all.

She stopped in front of the boutique. It looked… fine from the outside. All the clothing and hats displayed on the nice wooden stands were nowhere to be seen now, probably washed away by the water.

She closed her umbrella and walked up to the door… or where the door was supposed to be. It was resting off its hinges against the doorway. That wasn’t a great sign for whatever might’ve happened inside.

She stepped into the small building. The light shone through the glass roof, leaving it as bright as it usually was. Although it didn’t save the atmosphere the boutique usually had, with soaked clothing that littered the floor and the intense warmth that engulfed her already sweating body. However, in the center picking up one of the stands was Chiori.

“Chiori!” She leaned her umbrella against the doorway.

Chiori looked over her shoulder. “Navia?”

Navia walked up to her whilst taking the moment to observe the damages to the interior of the boutique. The rug was completely soaked through, squelching with every step, and the patterned fabrics that used to be displayed nicely on the shelves were strewn all over the floor.

“It’s a mess, I know,” Chiori muttered as she pulled the kimono off the wooden stand.

“Do you need any help?”

Chiori took a deep breath and crossed her arms over her chest. “If you would gather all the fabric on the floor into a pile I would be grateful.”

“Alright!”

“Thank you.”

Navia immediately went to gather the damp fabrics into her arms. However, their colors were dulled from the dirt that was brought up from the flood waters. “Are you going to be able to use these anymore?”

Chiori shook her head as she overlooked the kimono in her hands. “They’re wet, dirty, and torn probably from all the debris. They’re beyond saving.”

“Oh, I’m sorry.”

“It’s… fine. It’ll be fine.”

Navia's gaze softened but she didn’t say anything more, returning to picking up the unrolled fabrics covering the floor.

She formed a pile of the wrecked fabrics near the doorway, and approached Chiori who had moved to pull the blue tablecloth off of her table.

“I’m done.”

Chiori didn’t look up at her instead, fiddling with the tablecloth gripped in her hands. “Thank you, I appreciate the help.”

“Ma chéri,” Navia sighed with a smile and pushed herself up to sit on the wooden table. “Are you feeling okay?”

Chiori drew in a sharp breath, scarlet eyes locked on the table cloth clutched in her hands. “Yes.”

Navia leaned forward on her palm and used her other gloved hand to gently grab Chiori’s chin between her thumb and index, forcing the seamstress to face her. “Put it down.”

Chiori flashed her eyes to the blue fabric and complied, letting it fall to the tiled floor.

Navia let her hand drop, but kept it held out. Chiori stared at it, but reluctantly rested her hand in hers.

“What’s bothering you?” She leaned her hand up close to her lips, blue eyes searching Chiori’s face for the distress she sensed from her.

Chiori’s eyebrows furrowed and she finally lifted her gaze to meet Navia’s.

“Look around you. I don’t have the mora to fix all of the water damages I certainly have right now. Whatever orders I’ve been working on are gone or ruined so that’s… five people who might not get their clothes on the date I promised, not to mention all my materials are trashed so that’s if they get their order at all. Then I’d have to refund them which means less mora to fix my boutique. I have to restock, but everything in my shop is custom made so alongside the orders I have to work on my shelf products.” Chiori stopped herself before she could keep rambling, immediately darting her eyes away from Navia. “I can do it, I’m just… overwhelmed, I guess, at the prospect.”

Navia let go of Chiori’s hand and slid off the table. “Mon Amour,” she whispered softly as she walked around the table to stand in front of the seamstress. “You’re not the only person going through this right now.” Navia reached for both of Chiori’s hands and held them tightly. “I know it’s a lot to process in that wonderful head of yours, but I promise everything will be okay. Because, unlike everyone else, you have me,” she laughed, shaking Chiori’s hands slightly. “I’ll help you with everything, I’ll pay for anything, I’ll do anything, okay?”

Chiori’s shoulders dropped from where they had been tensed up and she nodded. “I know, I know, you’re sweet like that.”

Navia tugged Chiori closer and rested her forehead against hers, moving her hands to rest on her waist. “I am, aren’t I?”

Chiori rolled her eyes and exhaled, amused.

Navia leaned back to press a delicate kiss to her forehead, grinning at the faint lipstick left behind. “Well, should we keep cleaning then?”

“Preferably.”

i'm really surprised chiori/navia is THIS obscure to general wlw viewer? i thought there were at least a small community to this ship but it turns out no???

i even more surprized mizuki/yae haven't reached any levels of potentially be recognized as iconic, because mizuki's characher stories are like... so obviously centered around yae miko (which honestly gives me a lot of personal vision to yumekui-baku development and culture hmm and not only lesbian vibes)

‘Day 2: Naviori’

They are my fav wlw ship. Haven’t written anything for them in ages but I still love them. I can’t really explain why but I just remember playing Chiori’s story quest and I realized the immense amount of care Navia had for her friends… and Navia x Clorinde never really stuck the landing for me, so I latched onto them.

I just remember when the traveler had to wreck Chiori’s stuff up and then Navia showed up and immediately was like shocked with Chiori’s shop and was ready to beat up some perpetrators.

I do actually have minor headcanons for them for this moment in time. (They change every day) Navia is biromantic and asexual and Chiori is an aroace lesbian because that’s how I’m feeling today.

I miss them so much. Their story quests were some of my favorite from the 4.X version.
