In the 7 successful years of my Cindy's Show 1995-2002 I had the pleasure of entertaining the navy service men from different countries that visited SAMOA and usually the next day the Captain and some of the officers would turn up to present me with the Royal Navy flags with some of the officers signatures on it. Never did I think that there would be a naval fandom with more angst than Hornblower but The Terror proved that wrong.  Next to both of them, Master and Commander is practically a comfy, fluff fic because at least our captain and his doctor are together happily playing a duet at the end as they sail into the sunset.
