Padawan Nawab Planting trees.... Big oc lore rambling under the cut, but basically their master was a consular jedi with a big connection to nature conversation and that's why they love Nature Class for clan tusk-cat and got Yoda's approval for a class pet.

A bit back I rambled in some tags about Nawah's master being a Jedi Naturalist, technically a knight and consular, but working on helping people and planets recover and defend ecosystems, and vaugely In Charge of coordinating assignments for the agricorps. Nawah and Their Master usually did traveling diplomacy and scholarly kind of stuff, as well as assisting the republic security with animal smugglers- but they did on some occasion assist on the ground level too, as the picture depicts.

Later in life Nawah asked not to be assigned for AgriCrorps, since I imagine during the clone wars it became more focused on supply to worlds affected by fighting or blockades- wookiepedia vaguely states the service corps became militarized, and agricorps for supply and war zone rebuilding efforts sounds most likely- and an entirely unfitting lokbo between fighting and not fighting for Nawah, psychologically. Still, Nawah found their master's old teachings to foster their connection to the living force and the appreciation and curiosity he instilled in them for all living things, as a key to peace, very helpful and guiding in their experience as a creche teacher, and involved their students in nature studies and related things often.

Also I decided the silver head pieces I did for one of Nawah's old drawings, based on Ryo Chuchi's, are silver for reasons complicatedly related to Pantoran presentation and they mostly only wear them as a Padawan on important assignments, or later ceremonial events.

Oh i was mostly there to spread your cool game around but hey. Let's do some Nawah stuff i've been thinking about Nawah a bit lately

2. What is their culture? + What is their relationship with their culture?Mostly Jedi but with strong dashes of pantoran. above all else Nawah is Me Making Some Kind Of Dyspraxic Point so I think they were only tracked as Note-Worthingly force sensitive at a later age- not nearly as old as Anakin, of course, but enough they have some memory of their first language and early social concepts, like family structure and Pantroan Gender. They deliberately seeked information and connection later in life- in a manner approved by the order- but mostly they see their heritage as pantoran and their Lived In Culture and values and stuff as Jedi, and are very invested in the Community aspects of temple life and the inter-generational bonding in it. For Pantoran stuff- there isn't much on wookiepedia for pantorans, they were made for the clone wars, but it does say their tattoos are about Lineage in an "almost feudalist ancient tradition"- and from Old Writings and I think while, again, as a Jedi nawah doesn't care much for that, blood family as a grouping, sometimes Family Names in our world developed out of roles, right, the tracking of your ancestors being about what kind of people they were and what they did in society, so some of Nawah's earlier tattoos point at their home and parents but in the last year of the war- the year their first class was graduating- they got tatoos about being an Educator/ Childcarer. Nurturer of future generation yknow. Also I based their head ornaments in some drawings on Riyo Chuchi's but Different and I think they have a cultural signifcance of Presentation but less, gender presentation and more Tempermment. Almost element. Probably with same ancient religious origin- wookiepedia says some pantorans worship and unnamed moon goddess- but mostly nowadays about, Vibe as a person.

this is a lot of the pantoran worldbuilding i did for them sdfgdgdsrg but they are very much culturally jedi. they're honestly a lot more into the code and into the Monkier areas of jedihood than some characters we see on screen.

4. What experiences shaped who they are? ough. definitely their crystal cave test, materializing their bond and oath to the force with their own kyber crystal calling to them, theirs?

... and then being hurt by that blade? irreversibly wounded by their own sword in their own hand?

...they chose to leave their blade behind when they got bumped from padawanhood to adjacent education corps. generally people there don't have sabers, but, the council wasn't going to take theirs away, they were not deemed dangerous or harmful with it, especially as long as Nawah was in the temple, and to jedi it is a very personal prized possesion. But Nawah didn't feel like keeping it. It was too bitter a reminder of what they were and werent, and besides, it would be so stained with blood if it could.

Finally finished this! Nature class with Nawah, clan tusk-cat, and the class pet, Lizowan (cuz it's their Lizard Padawan. The name was voted on. They're very proud of it)

Nawah, a jedi kindergarten teacher: ....generally its like. Let's take a deeeep breath and some water and see if we feel better..... its ok to feel bad, or to be angry, but what can we do instead of hitting? SORRYIDONTKNOWHWATELSETOSAYPLEASEDONTMURDERME

The thing with Nawah is like, they're not incompetent. they're not a terrible jedi. they went through the trial/rite of initiation, made their saber, became a padawan, all that, and took the padawan knighthood trials two or three times without, like, dying- they're just... If life was a video game they'd be ok- they'd have to do each boss battle thirty times over and over and they're not really good with some of the block/dodge so they're just trying to hold on through and kill the enmy first, a lot of button mashing, yknow. but like. In a world of star wars where the jedi are real people, being ok and succeeding at this stuff sometimes is. Not worth putting them in danger by making them a knight. Being passable in combat and moderate in problem solving and awkward at thinking on the spot and dorky at social interaction--- especially with the clone war coming in, the order woyld rather get their master a new padawan than let them retake the tests to get a C+ again.

In MMO terms, theyre, like, low-silve-tier-who-mostly-plays-unranked-and-for-fun-and-wins-about-50%-of-their-matches. there's a reason they were trusted to care and teach for the younglings with no rank- theyre not bad at Being A Jedi or at the force, theyre just. Bad At Being A Knight.

Just came up with OC lore that made me myself go 🥺.... What ifz and by what if I mean its canon the second I draw it, because Pantoran facial tattoos, according to wookiepedia, have to do partially with "ancient pantoran texts" and partially with ancient family associations, on their third year as a creche teacher, when Nawah accepted their new position entirely and is trying now to accept their kiddos are going to graduate soon and go to the initiate tests, gets a new tattoo that is, like, symbolic for parenthood or mentor-hood or both,, like, something that says "educator" in the sense of "helps raise the young to their- and our- future" , y'know? New tattoo,,,,
