NBA LANJUT NIH, WHO’S GET THE RINGS?
NBA sudah mengumumkan bahwa mereka akan memberikan presentasi kepada NBA Players Association perihal kelanjutan musim kompetisi 2019-2020. NBA akan memberi penjelasan terkait 22 tim, dan format kompetisi lanjutan. Waktu yang ditetapkan untuk melanjutkan kompetisi adalah 31 Juli 2020 mendatang.
Arena pertandingan yang digunakan adalah kompleks ESPN Wide World Of Sports, di kawasan Disney, Orlando, Florida. Untuk jumlah tim memang sudah diputuskan yaitu 22 tim. Tetapi penjelasan soal format dan jalannya kompetisi lanjutan nanti belum bisa dipastikan.
The Associated Press merilis bahwa rencana NBA memilh 13 tim Wilayah Barat, dan sembilan tim Wilayah Timur. Sebelum masuk playoff, mereka akan menjalani delapan pertandingan sebagai seleksi masuk playoff. Sementara untuk Playoff akan dimulai bulan Agustus, dan Final NBA kemungkina digelar Oktober. Sekali lagi, ini merupakan usulan. Belum ada pengumuman resmi dari NBA.
Berdasarkan klasemen saat liga dihentikan, ada tim-tim yang sudah mengunci tempat playoff seperti Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors, dan Boston Celtics. Bila hanya diambil delapan teratas, maka ada beberapa tim yang aman seperti Miami Heat, Indiana Pacerss, Philadelphia 76ers, LA Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder, dan Houston Rockets.
Sementara itu kalau mengacu dari usulan awal dengan 13 tim Wilayah Barat, maka Dallas Mavericks akan aman karena berada di peringkat ketujuh. Sedangkan perebutan peringkat delapan akan melibatkan Memphis Grizzlies, Portland Trail Blazers, New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento King, San Antonio Spurs, dan Phoenix Suns. Untuk Wilayah Timur Brooklyn Nets dan Orlando Magic akan saling mempertahankan posisi.
NBA menghentikan musim kompetisi 2019-20 pada 11 Maret lalu, setelah senter Utah Jazz, Rudy Gobert dinyatakan positif COVID-19. Daftar pemain NBA yang diketahui memiliki hasil tes positif akhirnya bertambah menjadi 10 pemain. Tetapi Komisaris NBA Adam Silver mengatakan bahwa total pemain yang terinfeksi sebenarnya bahkan lebih tinggi.
Tapi sayangnya lanjutan musim ini akan berlangsung tanpa tim yang bisa di bilang kontender terbaik musim lalu yaitu Golden State Warriors. See you GSW and GWS, LOL
