If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be in the middle of a white-out blizzard... listen to this album. Intense, frosty and noisy, this is black metal that draws from the 90s Norwegian tradition and buries it in white noise and wind. An evocative and intense listen.

Kvist - Stupet

This was some classic Norwegian black metal that went under my radar somehow. Very good stuff that rivals some of the bigger bands. Definitely comes off as a bit of a Satyricon clone though.

Thron - Age-Long Abstinence Abscess

This is a very unknown Russian band from the late 90s! I was totally blown away by this stuff. Fans of Abigor will love this. The production is pretty muddy though.

Beastcraft - Energumen

Extremely evil riffs. If you love the pre-Transilvanian Hunger era of Darkthrone, you should hear this.

Decameron - Sexual Immortality

This is one of those bands that is in between melodic black and melodic death metal. There is also a lot of prog metal stuff going on, especially if you listen to the album as a whole. Great stuff and yes I posted this one specifically for the song title.
