The thief snorted and put one hand over their chest, in a fake attempt to look offended.

“Oh no, your words hurt me so much. How will I live?” They said a smirk.

He repressed showing too much feelings upon seeing them again, but didn't seem out of sorts either. Maybe he had missed them?

Or their dramatics just amused him, since he looked like he was barely containing a snort upon seeing them like this.

"You're good at that much." The wink he threw them after that statement was so desperately unflattering in itself, that it made the whole moment even more dramatically unreal.

"You know what really drives me up the wall, I imagine you had your brush with it more often than I possibly want to count as well."

He shut his eyes and took a deep breath.

"Hypocrites. Dazzlers. Those are pretty bad, right? Now imagine you are so GREAT at your craft that you simply overlook the point that you are doing it in the first places."

He growled deeply in his throat. "People, who call themselves so good, yet their opinion is the holiest and whoever does not abide by it, is immediately either unwilling or broken." He glared at the other one, obviously more in commiseration rather than trying to blame them.

" 'Ohhh... you are depressed? Well how about you try not doing that.' 'You're afraid to do xy? Well, if you felt entitled to our friendship you would do it.' "

His eyes narrowed and he seemed to put special emphasis on the next sentence.

" 'You're not feeling like going out with us today? WELL, seems like you simply don't want to be our friend.' "

And when you ask these assholes if they think that they are good friends, they have the gall to say: "OF COURSE!! Just some of our friends aren't as good a we are. They are always distant. We want to expose them to the outside, but they never want to go with us." "

He huffed out through his nose and rolled his eyes. "Actually that's humans for you, yeah. That is pretty much 90% of all humans, right? It's not like I care, I don't really care about people much, they can go to hell for all I care. But I know other people, who care and their disappointment with the human race, really makes my blood boil.

You already have a feeling of never being able to vanquish the big baddies. This cozy-up with idiotic morons, who refuse to even learn a bit about people they view as 'wrong' or 'broken'... that's what's the really personal kick in the shin. Like life isn't easy for some people.

But if people refuse to even acknowledge you as a person... that is the poison prick... the end boss so to speak... and the brush up with that is probably the worst shit in life without a safety net."

Bakura was sitting in the dark, playing with a knife in their hand. They made the blade spin in the air, caughting it each time. The Shadow Realm was calm right now. Peace was never long here, so the thief was using the occasion to rest.

Bakura glanced at their right when their peripheral vision caught something. They tensed, ready to summon their Ka if needed, but to their surprise the newcomer looked human. And that wasn't the only surprising thing about them.

Bakura smirked, not moving from their spot, but ready to throw their knife. "So, is that the new game the shadows are playing today?"

Illusions, nightmares, they were used to see those here. But that was new.

He had felt for the longest time now like something in his head was rebelling, something felt off. It was like a pressure in his brain, behind his eyes... like something had crawled into there and took up too much place.

It seems the shadows were calm right now but he made no wrong assumption that he wasn't watched. You were never alone in the darkness of this realm. The realm itself was never sleeping and he could feel the blind gaze like fingers, reaching for his mind.

Bakhura felt a very different kind of horror though, when the sight of the pharaohs mantle greeted him from farther in the dark... the red, slightly ripped piece of clothing that he himself wore as well. Pulling the fabric in a little tighter around him, a breath hissed out of him when he realized he was watching himself... no.

Pale violet eyes squinted tightly. They were alike, but watching the other was like looking through a skewered mirror. He felt the small hairs along the nape of his neck stand up. The voice was different, but if he listened they had very similar inflection.

"What a strange copy you are... there is no reason to put you here to torment me..." His eyes raved over the other ones form. It was like looking at a mirage that was very tangible.

"You are certainly different. I'd say a welcome sight compared to emptiness and darkness... but a whole new level of disturbing."

His head tilted, nostrils flaring. "What's your name... imposter?"

He had been having fun at this little gathering, with the prospect that nobody really knew him... and if so, he had taken some precautions - tying most of his hair back was one thing, an unusually casual linnen based outfit in light colors had be the other.

He didn't know what it was with that one, if they had found him out or just knew him, but he wasn't going to let that one off the hook now.

Their being felt... very familiar for sure. He hadn't gotten a good look at them, yet.

For now, his face was split in two rows of teeth, an almost sharklike grin. Fuck his hair and outfit, this one was going down with him.

Shooting up again, while they were probably still celebrating their little victory, his hand would grip their thigh (easier to balance from out of the lower position - he wanted them to get wet with water, not their own blood from a nasty head injury, if they fell back) and yank them forward if they were too slow to step back.

"You need to cool DOWN~!"
