“I really don’t know what’s wrong~ Are you seeing ghosts, ou-sama? Should I be concerned?”

His eyes narrowed immediately upon seeing the other. Was that who he thought it was? Even at this distance the mere sight of him made his jaw clenched tightly. His grip on his pen becoming so tight it seemed like it might snap at any moment. How dare he! Walking around as if nothing had happened!
He continued his piercing stare, hoping for the other to notice, to feel uncomfortable with his anger, to understand what he had coming for him now. Seto was planning his revenge quite meticulously, though for now he had to pretend nothing was wrong even if his insides burned from the amount of hatred he felt towards him in this moment.

The nights had bled into days and he had been terribly busy.
Filtering the mood of a whole metropolis and making it ready for an upheaval... a stir so to speak wasn't an easy task, but he would make it work.
The upstanding citizens of Waset were beyond unhappy as their Pharaoh had gone on to the afterlife, entered the Duat... but that was just what happened. Something like an icy splinter had wedged into his organs, since that day. Like the night sky of small clear splinters had sliced through him and left only dread and emptiness behind.
He had been desperate and empty... and so, so angry that the rage in his veins had felt numbing with how heated it was.
Certainly a strange kind of grief, but he had felt it nonetheless... That wretched person... the former pharaoh had gone on... had performed the one sole action that he had condemned his people to never reach and then had left a state that wasn't read for the departure.
Wild hair, golden glimmer and bright big eyes flitted through his mind for a tiny second, but he let the fleeting memory pass on, out of his system. One of these days their destiny would be decided... one of these days he would see, if he had done the world a favor... or made a horrible mistake.
His hands balled into fists as he slipped through the night, his new mantle fluttering in the night air and barely making a noise. Once the rites had been completed and the tomb sealed.... he had made it his penultimate business to desecrate it in the worst fashion.
It had almost cost him an arm and left behind a huge wound, but it didn't matter... the dead man should feel the same grief that the ripped up souls of his village felt... and he would wear the garments of the late pharaoh as his trophy.
He hadn't had the opportunity to best him in life... but he could still ruin him in death.
Something caught his attention and he slipped onto a rooftop, watching a smaller figure darting through the night... hidden beneath a completely clean garment... the rich smell of cinnamon and myrrh tickling his nose... He didn't actually want to step into the awareness of the public JUST yet... maybe the approach of this meeting should have been clear to him, but it hadn't.... The thing that beckoned him to follow, the one dying grace of the smaller human slipping through the night was a spark of gold.... that one splotch of light hitting a hidden cursed treasure.
He was well on his way to follow without a sound before he could even make the decision, his stomach filling with madness and icy dread.
Maybe he would destroy the honor and false virtue of a whole family tonight-
"Here's a deal. No more of that business and we all will pretend nothing happened. How about it?" ALAS... He actually cares. The last thing he'd want is the older Kaiba coming and seeing all this mess.
"There's something you don't understand, Yami..."
"....we are not in control of this situation anymore."
"I've been meaning to talk with you about something if you may... "
He's been thinking about this ever since the incident at the oasis.
"The man mentioned something under the lines of someone saving you in the past." He already knows Kisara already dealt with these people before which is frustrating enough. But to hear someone helped her escape is relieving in a sense.
"You don't have to disclose their name. If you're willing to share what happened back then, I wish to listen. If not, that's fine. Regardless, I'll make sure these guys don't come near you ever again."
There was hesitation, while hardly the most painful memory but guilt still weighed heavily on her mind.
"Several years ago that man was part of a different group of bandits, thry attacked a village I was staying in,"
Her hands twisted looking down, she knew it wasn't her fault for once. Wrong place, Wrong time that's all it had been they'd surely have attacked regardless. Still sometimes she wondered if she really did bring bad luck with her.
"I'm not sure any survived, save me. I thought for sure they would kill me too instead they locked me in a cart in hopes of selling me off for a good price.
One night when they stopped for a rest that's when he came. Turns out there'd been a town not far from where we were. I've no idea what he was doing out so late but was willing to risk everything to set me free..."
Kisara's voice trailed arm folding around her, remembering the pained cry as he looked back, the bandits furious went to take revenge and punishment out on the boy by attacking his home.
"Even his own home, his family. They were furious at what he'd done upon catching him helping me.
But instead of chasing after us, the bandits went after the boy's village instead. I'm not even sure if he survived, I tried going back to look once, a lot of buildings were wrecked and there were several bodies everywhere, I think some may have been the bandits but I do not know."
What was left of them was near unrecognizable as even bring human.
Slowly she shook her head, the very thought someone may have died for helping her ate at her always. He didn't know her, gad mo reason to intervene and set her free yet that boy had risked so much for her freedom.
She'd heard rumours of the White Beast having appeared there as well, where ever she went it seemed to follow not far behind.

Doesn't work. Instead, he unconsciously grabs him and latches himself onto him in his sleep. Whoops. Forgot to mention that he's a snuggler whenever he's asleep.

"'Course I'mma good hugger! Maybe even the king of hugs!"
To exemplify his point he lifted Atem a few inches off the ground and spun around once before setting him back down from their hug. He was an affectionate guy!
"I think it's one of my best qualities. I don't only lift weights to pick up my friends, but it sure is a great bonus!"
