Katherine Marie Whistler episode 13 season 2 👸🏼

Once again thankful that they've let us see Kate with the team and growing as an agent

Okay, I get that Kai was a little on edge because his dad was directly involved with what was going on and Kate tried to make a point at the wrong time given Kai's nervous state. But can we talk for a second about Kate's reaction in the second gif, I know and I've mentioned it before that when Kate feels uncomfortable about someone else's reaction she doesn't know how to act, it's like she blocks and the most she can do is look at them and try not to say anything else.

Luckily Jane was there to remind Kai that Kate -as always when she gets yelled at- was simply doing her job and we can even notice Kate's reaction, she doesn't back down or seem intimidated by Kai's reaction, however she doesn't say anything else and lets Jane be the one to say something.

I don't know about you, but I had been waiting for this moment since we found out that Kate would now be with the FBI, and yes I'm talking about her in the jacket with the yellow FBI lettering, pulling out the handcuffs while standing there in a powerful pose.

These too because I can't believe how good my blondie looks in the jacket being all agent 😁

Okay I don't really have anything to say about this scene, I just wanted to make the gif because she looks so cute 🥺

You guys know one of my favorite things to watch other than Lucy beating people up is Kate in the field, I love watching her act experienced, being quick and trusting her instincts and the team, she is one of my favorite growths I've ever watched

This one just because she looks so tiny next to Jesse 🤏🏼🥰

This scene doesn't have Kate in it, but we know she's the one on the other end of the phone and because I forgot to add it in my previous post and really didn't want to leave it out 🤭

Episode 13 season 2 🛳

And everyone cheered! 🥳

I really wanted with everything in me to post this episode immediately after it came out, but things happened and it's only now that I have a chance to do so, let's get started.

I know if you guys are at least a little like me you screamed the moment you heard Lucy's voice for the first time after months and you screamed even more when the camera showed her 🤭

"You applied for the job to avoid dealing with your feelings for me."

Do you want to know how much Kate loves Lucy? She mentions the real reason Lucy applied for that assignment as a way of letting her know she can say it, plus it's fun to call her out 🤫

"I miss you."

I love the fact that this call exists, that it was just them catching up, talking about things not too important and taking the opportunity to let each other know that they already want to see each other again 🥰

"Be careful."

Nothing else to say, I love that they love each other and I love their love

Now, I've been saving this for a month, let's talk about Special Agent Afloat Lucy Tara in all her glory 🤗

Let's start with the fact that I know for a fact that she never believed what happened was what it looked like

Lucy is still a junior agent within NCIS, we are used to seeing her taking orders and not giving them, giving ideas and waiting for them to be approved, but in this case we got to see her work on her own, proving that no matter if she is the least experienced agent in her team, she can stand on her own

Another thing I loved to see in her, is that she immediately noticed the sailor getting uncomfortable in the presence of his superior and then gave him the opportunity to get out of there, he didn't say anything but she immediately noticed the change of attitude in the way he expressed himself as opposed to when it was just the two of them

Once again when talking to the "fun boss" she knew something was wrong, Lucy knew she was the one who was hiding something and for a moment she thought it was the sailor the woman was dating

One thing I can't not mention is the way she didn't hesitate to clarify the authority she had within the case, she was the one who was going to solve what had happened and the moment he asked something he shouldn't have, meddling in her work, she made sure to make this clear to him

My baby has grown so much 🥺

Once again Lucy proving she's smarter than all of us

Pausing just to tell you how lovely it is to me that Ernie and Lucy were having video calls while she was on the boat, it shows how much they love and care for each other

Back to the case, I told you guys that she knew something was wrong. Even though everything is technically solved she knew it couldn't be that easy, she knew there was something else she wasn't seeing, and she was right.

She casually unpacked everything while making time to find exactly what she knew was there

That's the expression she always makes when she knows she's right and we love to see it

And trusting her instinct, not settling for the answer she had gotten, she found the truth

This episode became one of my favorites, because it allowed us to see how much Lucy has grown as an agent and to see her work on her own using everything she's learned and proving she can do it. I think a lot of Jane's example, she always looks for the answer of things until she is sure that what she got is really the truth and Lucy proved to have learned this during this episode.

Kate on the field

Oh how I love seeing my blondie with her vest on and a gun in her hands, taking down the bad guys 🤗

I could talk -write- about Kate's growth for hours, because the Kate we saw in 1.20 and the Kate we saw in 2.11 are not even a little bit alike.

You know I love my girl and I love that she's always proven to be able to do it all, how she always saves the day just by making a couple of calls, how she gets information just because she "knows someone here/there" but to see her be what she is now as a field agent, it's a whole new universe, and I love it.

Seeing her be brave, going straight into action, knowing she may end up hurt but trusting that she won't, trusting in her ability and in Jane ( and in the whole team) is the best thing I've seen in a character in a long time. Especially because of the growth involved in her character, the Kate we know in the pilot is all rules, plans, protocols and the Kate of now walks straight into danger and knows how to do it, she's stronger and as always, she knows exactly what she's doing.

I feel like I'm repeating myself, I'm just proud of the agent Kate has become, she's more confident, she knows how to defend and how to take care of herself.

I'm so happy that the writers gave Kate a real personality, that they let her be part of the team and not just that character that appears in some episodes and happens to be the partner of one of the main characters. They gave her room to be a needed character on the team and grow on and off the team.

I love my Katherine 🥰

Episode 10 season 2

NCISverse crossover

Here's the thing, I thought long and hard about whether or not I wanted/should post this recap, mainly because I don't like crossovers, in a very personal opinion, I think they just interrupt character continuity stories to focus on a case that has no relevance within the context of the season. I'll do the recap and come back later to my opinions.

First Katherine

The growth that my blondie has had within the series is something impressive, and every day makes me love her more, the way we meet her as someone who works with the team only if she has to and as she progresses she becomes more and more a main and indispensable part of the investigations.

Plus the dynamic she has created to work with each of the team members, it seems like she is one of them and not just the FBI liaison.

Another thing is that we see her always firm with what she knows is the right thing to do and needs to be done, Kate follows the rules and does things the way they should be, but she knows that the rules sometimes need to be ignored when doing the right thing is different than what the rules say.

You guys know one of my favorite things in NCIS Hawai'i is Ernie and Kate working together, the way they are both so different but it just makes sense the moment they need to discover/find something, it's like being so different helps them be equals and complement each other as they work. And I love that Kai doesn't understand them but he does

That's what I was telling you, when they are wrapped up in the work, it's like they are one, where Ernie goes, Kate goes

And the moment we've all been waiting for finally arrived, Katherine Marie Whistler in a bulletproof vest 👀

Back to the growth she's had and how much her character proved it in this crossover (and she proves it with every episode not just this time) we see her back in the field

Showing that she has been training and that she remembers her mistakes very well, checks her blind spots, doesn't get ahead of herself, waits for any noise and is attentive to everything around her

And even when she is surprised to see the wall with the photos of all the members of the teams involved, she is alert to what she hears

And that's how we get to the best scene of the episode, Kate pointing straight ahead, not backing away or giving any sign of giving in to what he's telling her to do

One more thing I NEED to point out, is the way Kai doesn't doubt for a second that if he takes the shot, he's not going to miss, more than to prove a point, I KNOW he was doing it to assure Kate that he was going to protect her. Because he says it in response to Callen, but if you pay enough attention, you can tell he's looking at her

They're siblings, fighting crime together. And anyone who says otherwise can argue with the wall

She's this size 🤏🏼 and Kai too, they're both babies fighting the bad guys
