Birthday lunch
Summary: Gibbs daughter x reader where she comes into work to meet him for lunch as its Gibbs grandchild birthday and everything is over welcoming for her autistic son.
I walk from my car to the Navy yard holding my four year olds son hand, I have only been to NCIS once before and that was years ago when I didn't have Joel. When I came in last Tony and Ziva were still here now they have gone. Now he has two new agents that I haven't met before.
We go through security with Joel holding tightly onto my hand he clings on not letting go. As we went up to the lift we were escorted by an agent Dad knows that we are coming we are meeting him for lunch as its Joel's birthday.
The lift dings as we reach the floor where Dad should be I look over as we walk but he is not there but I recognise Mcgee. When he sees me he smiles widely happy to see us again. “ Hey Y/N nice to see you again” he says smiling, I smile back “nice to see you too Tim is he ready” I ask. He just smiles and replies “ he's just seeing the director then he will be down”. I smile and nod “thanks”.
Tim then kneels down to Joel’s height and says “Happy birthday Joel”, Joel just cowers away. Tim smiles moving away from Joel as he knows what Joel is like around new people. He goes and stands back behind his desk then a women walks over to me she says “nice to meet you I'm Ellie you must be Gibbs daughter we have heard all about you thats Nick” she gestures to the other agent.
Nick comes over happily “nice to meet you” he says, I smile “nice to meet you both”. They both lean over to talk to Joel he again holds onto my arm and cowers behind me. He's jittering more behind me than he was when `Tim was talking to him. He also lets go off my hand just as Nick is about to shake his hand he touches him which Joel starts to scream and hides under Dads desk putting his hands over his ears as he rocks slightly. Luckily he has stopped screaming.
I lean down to look under the desk “baby its ok Mummy's here do you want to come out” I ask. I slowly reach out for his hand but he just lets out a little scream. I sigh standing up moving away to let him have some space and to come out when he's ready.
Jack was coming down the stairs when Joel had gone under the desk. She puts her hand on my shoulder. “Hi Jack” i say giving her a weak smile. “hey its ok he will let you in soon”. I smile “I know”, I leave Joel to settle as he will come out in time.
He has stopped putting his hands over his ears but is still under the desk. Dad starts coming from the stairs he walks over giving me a hug. “Wheres Joel” Dad asks I sigh and point to under his desk. He smiles kissing my head as he walks over to Joel. He squeezes under the desk with Joel. After two minutes Joel leans his head on Dads shoulder. Dad wraps his arms around him pulling him close. “Happy birthday baby “ he says.
After a while they come out from under the desk Joel is much calmer now. Dad picks him up and puts Joel on his hip. “right ill be back after lunch Tim your in charge call me if you need me” he says to his team. I smile leaning over to Joel to kiss his cheek we start to leave. “nice to meet you all nice to see you again Tim and see you on Thursday Jack for our usual drinks” I say. She comes over to give me a hug.
We walk to the lift as we get in Dad kisses my head “lets go get some Ice cream shall we” he says to Joel who nods. I smile happily Dad always comes to the rescue.
