   there  she  was  ,   two  drinks  in  hand  ,   taking  a  small  sip  of  her  own  before  walking  towards  where  t’challa  sat  .   it  had  been  a  while  since  they’d  spoken  ,   that  too  face  to  face  .   their  split  had  been  amicable  ,   they’d  both  seen  it  coming  long  before  it  had  happened  .   it  had  hurt  all  the  same  ,   of  course  .   there  had  been  a  time  when  he’d  been  her  greatest  confidant  ,   her  friend  .   now  ,   as  she  stood  before  him  ,  offering  him  the  other  drink  in  her  hand  ,   they  felt  almost  like  strangers  .    ‘   mind  if  i  join  you  ?   i  got  you  your  favourite  .   ’

   there  was  something  vaguely  familiar  about  the  man  .   as  he  approached  him  ,   he  searched  his  brain  for  the  answer  but  came  up  empty  .   no  ,   he  had  to  know  him  from  somewhere  .   smiling  as  he  came  onto  the  other’s  view  ,   he  thought  he  caught  a  glimpse  of  a  panther  .   when  he  blinked  . .  it  was  gone  .   shaking  the  thought  from  his  head  ,   he  extended  his  hand  forward  .    ‘   hey  ,   steve  rogers  .   have  we  met  ?   ’
