Part of the @ndawards process is to tell your story on our profile page. The idea is share a little about you to support your nomination. That made me think...how many of us really take the time to understand each other's journeys? I have always been honest and quite forthcoming with whatever I am going through but in doing so, I can appreciate that there are so many people who aren't ready to share their stories, so many who struggle in silence or fear. So many people who don't feel like their problems are worth talking about or feel like no one will understand. Every single one of these feelings are valid and you are no less a person for safeguarding your own self by not sharing your struggles so openly. Yes it is good to talk. Yes a problem shared is a problem halved. Yes people may resonate with what you are saying and find solace or comfort in hearing your story... BUT.... You are HUMAN with real emotions and feelings. Sharing your story may be cathartic, but it is not for everyone. The beauty of this is...it is completely your choice how much of your life you share with others. You are your number 1 priority in life. Yes everything else that matters to you is important but that old saying "you can't pour from an empty cup" has never been more relevant as it is here... Look after yourself first. Tend to your needs so that you are the strongest version of yourself. Mentally, physically and emotionally. There is little point in spreading yourself too thin by helping others if you are struggling to hold it together yourself. We all wobble...that is a given but safeguard your own self first and once you're in a better headspace all round...the positivity will overflow in abundance.
