hey imagine if it snowed. . .well in socal we'll panic and half of us will be wiped out. Also yea those nyc buildings wont survive, but they dont have to worry about the ground eating them now do they? XD

Norcal would also be in a panic. Chaos would ensue. Children and teens and young adults enrolled in schools would run around the streets screaming “SCHOOL’S OUT!” then suddenly drop onto the snow because they are too cold to move. Parents would be storming stores to find more jackets for their families. All the phone lines will be busy because everyone’s relatives will call and ask “IS IT SNOWING?!?!?!?!” or “WHAT IS THIS STUFF COMING FROM THE SKY!!?!?!?!?!” Everyone would forget how to drive. Car accidents will cause roads to be clogged. Accidental fires would occur from people trying to warm themselves. Kestrel would finally leave her room so can take pictures and videos of the snow and whisper to herself “holy shit. this is hella rad...” while her parents yell at her to go back inside before she gets sick and dies.

lol yeah nyc doesn’t really have to worry too much about earthquakes, but the east coast does get a few once in a while.

When there are earthquakes “meh”. When its raining “OMG WATER FROM THE SKY?! WHAT IS THIS?! WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!”

EXACTLY. WATER FROM THE SKY = THE SKY IS FALLING = WE ARE DEAD.

btw I like how sky and die rhyme. lol.

I feel that way about some anime, but then there’s some anime I feel like I need to be involved in the fandom. It’s really strange. I guess it depends on the anime for me.

Some fandoms are generally better than others, so it makes sense.

If I could manage to keep up with anime on a weekly basis as the new episodes air, I'd probably still want to be involved in a few fandoms. A lot of times I'm unable to watch episodes until later, and by the time I watch them, it's too late to join in on any celebrations, rants, or feels festivals. Plus there are spoilers everywhere, so I just avoid fandoms in general now.

It didn't have a fandom even then. That anime is hell. "I have no idea what is happening" hell. I can't believe I watched the whole thing and still nothing making sense.

haha it somehow made sense to me by the time everything was explained. The explanation for all that fuckery was total BS, but it fit the overall feel of the series.

I probably wouldn’t have been a part of the fandom anyway, but if I had watched the series while it aired, I would have been able to savor it for more than 3 days. And I probably could have bought all the Blu-Rays by Oct 2014 and gotten the special mousepad. OTL

I think it's because a lot of people get a few topics that are important to understand their own culture, and the rest is skipped. I missed out on a lot of important bits of history as well, and I'm dutch...

Yes, that’s true. Grade schools and general World History classes kind of have to skip out on or gloss over some things in order to fit the course within a certain period of time. My teachers often tell us that if we’re interested in history, we need to try reading books from other countries and do outside reading, or take foreign history classes in college.

Still, I’ve seen a lot of tumblr posts saying “The American school system never tells you about THIS in history!” and I read through the post, and most of the things are stuff I remember my teachers mentioning (especially the Black History stuff. We always spend a lot of time on Black history in America), or I remember reading about in the text books. Then people get mad because they didn’t know that stuff.

I’m not sure if my teachers happened to be really good, if everyone else’s teachers never talk about things outside of the core curriculum, or if people just don’t pay attention in class. I’m pretty sure your history classes didn’t care about every single historical figure in American history because you aren’t American, so I don’t get why I’m seeing Americans get mad that they didn’t learn about specific figures in China in their World History classes. There are Chinese History classes that focus specifically on China.

I can’t read Thai either. I only understand enough to watch some Thai dramas or anime dubbed in Thai. lol...

as a person who has been discriminated against for being Asian, i agree with you 101%

Discrimination against Asian people isn't as visible because it's not really reported on much in mainstream media, and if it is, no one really cares. Just last year at a Walmart in my city, some lady tried to kill a four year old girl just because the girl was Asian. The lady hit the girl in the head twice with a crowbar. People don't really know about that.

Man, Even Asians discriminate against other Asians. I've been looked down on by old Vietnamese ladies for not being fully Vietnamese.
