What are some of the misconceptions that fans have made regarding StoryShift (be it Reboot or Preboot) that have bothered you the most?

I had a long spiel going into specifics but that came off as way too rambly. So to be brief: It’s the worst when people treat Storyshift like it’s just an Undertale recolor. And it’s such a widespread thing nowadays, it’s hard to bother working on the official work knowing it will be drowned out by fifty someones who never bothered looking up Metta’s species and will angrily rebuff me when I try to correct them.

But a close second is the obsession some fans have with the Preboot snow kids over everything else in the whole rest of the story. Adding onto this, a vast majority of it is just the same angsty Genocide fancontent with minor changes from the same angsty Undertale Genocide fancontent at best. It’s just a slew of crying Charas with the wrong scarf on and knives, magical or otherwise, everywhere...

Hold up... I just realized something about ULR, a few things actually. One: since the fates of Chara and Asriel are... uh, different.... does that mean that Asgore never made that declaration to collect seven souls and break the barrier? And! Have any other humans fallen besides Arrow and Tomo, and if so, what happened to them?

Asgore does have different motivations, you are correct! The Underground, while a horrible place that consistently drains monsters of their magic, is filled with far too many problems at the moment for Asgore to really consider the idea of breaking the Barrier and returning to the Surface. Especially if a war were to outbreak again: the monsters have been incredibly weakened and their numbers are practically to the point of their own race being endangered. Going to war like this would practically be asking for their own extinction. However, his motivation stems from a plan Gaster told him to focus on, rather than something Asgore did on his own terms.

There also were not any other humans who have fallen into the Underground between Chara and Frisk, but there is an exact ten-year-long gap between their falls.

I know we’re allowed to make characters, but is there a way for us to submit them?

Is the submit button not on? I have this problem on my main blog where asks and submits will just RANDOMLY turn off because the website is a technical failure on many levels. XD Our submit button is “for the cast” section on our blog.

So is Datashift like a role change au in the similar sense of StoryShift? And if so, who gets changed, what roles do they take, and how do they function in those roles?

Datashift is not a role change AU at all! 

It was originally an offshoot of Underverse, though now it’s more of it’s own thing, with Xtale and subsequently Overwrite affecting the story much differently than in Underverse. All characters are still in their original “roles” in the multiverse, just with different personalities shaped from their circumstances!

I guess the title “Datashift” can be a bit misleading, haha.

Lol, that is like my exact headcanon for them! With Papyrus being paladin, that could specialize on fighting or healing. And Sans as a secretly op rogue, with high charisma, so he fools everyone into believing he is a simple bard. And Toriel, a cleric, but with some form of "ignis divine"

Yeah! I didn’t look into it for everyone, but I know there’s a playtest variant of the Bard that suits Sans perfectly, and they released a technomancy wizard for a modern setting that’s great for alphys--there’s gotta be something that matches everyone, even if it’s not part of the standard ruleset--of course, in a game using undertale characters, it’s already a little outside of the rules XD
