Been hanging out with the Baby Rockstar. Can you believe it? I can't either... But, updates on 'Neanne/Nayabear' will be posted as soon as I get back to Florida! Love you, lovelies! xx
Quick Note: This is not affiliated with Arvina or Aeanne. It is based on both Falling and Soft Spot, but we wrote it on our own. ~Sammi & Vinny
Aeanne recklessly fumbled with her keys that were kept together by the keychain that her dad had bought her when he was in Barcelona. She ran her hair over with stressful, trembling fingers as the hole wouldn't cooperate with her, the keys almost dropping quite a few times.
Andy hasn't been home for about six months and a half and their old house in Rosewood was a mere vacation house for her family. Her mom had moved in with her stepdad somewhere in Manchester, but they decided to keep the house just in case their kids are homesick enough to go back to Rosewood. Arvina has been busy all day, trying to catch up with Nash and all, so calling her to keep her company wasn't really an option.
It was a hot summer day in Rosewood and her and Arvina decided to pay a visit with their whole crew - Niall, Zayn, Maz, the Harries Twins, Jaimie, the whole of jock army and their girlfriends. It was all a fun idea until this morning, when Niall and Aeanne were at the field where they first met and things had gotten awkwardly messy.
She ended up running away from him and driving back to her old house, not wanting to think of the recent events anymore.
The key finally cooperated with the hole and she budged the door open, sighing gratefully. She threw the keys somewhere in their kitchen counter and jogged upstairs to where her old bedroom was.
Everything was still the same from before she left. Her bedroom was still painted the same exact pastel pink with doodles from elementary school hung on her wall. By her balcony was a mermaid painted on the wall and her fairy chandelier still hung above her pink bed. She laughed to herself, thinking how silly it was to keep the same decorations from childhood to senior year of high school.
She turned on her cream colored ceiling fan then dove onto her bed, pulling her old stuffed animals close to her. She wanted nothing but forget what had happened between her and Niall.
After two hours of just laying down and thinking of her old times with Arvina in her room - and some of when Niall sneaked in her room when they were secretly dating - she decided it was a good idea to head downstairs to make herself food because her stomach had been giving her desperate growls.
"What to eat?" She hummed, searching through their pantry. "What to eat~?"
She saw a box of macaroni and cheese and decided that if it wasn't what her stomach's looking for, then it could starve to death.
Aeanne got pans from the cabin and heated up the water on the stove. She headed to the living room to watch TV while she waited for the water to boil, but just then, someone rang her doorbell.
She picked herself up from the couch and groaned, making her way to the front door. She swore that if it was Andy, she'd shave his hair off and kill him because he should have used his keys instead of pestering her.
She opened the front door, almost surprised to who it was. There he was; with his perfect blue eyes and hidden beneath his snapback was a tousled blonde hair that surely needed a cut. He wore the same tank top and shorts he was wearing earlier, but his shoes were a lot dirtier. She sighed heavily to herself, swearing quietly. He looked up at her from his feet and forced a smile, but it quickly faded when she didn't return in.
"Niall." Aeanne said, looking at her feet.
"Hey." He said, barely audible.
"Yeah," she looked up at him,
Niall opened his mouth to say something, but he knew well that he wasn't even supposed to be there, so he quickly shut it close. He fucked up and he was aware of it. Everything between him and Aeanne were going good, until he fucked up this morning.
"If you're here to let the flies in my house, please go." She said sarcastically.
"No!" He quickly protested. "I just..I.."
"You what, Niall?" She asked impatiently.
"Listen," he let a heavy breath out, looking at her. "I know I fucked up, but we all do, ok-"
"Niall." She looked at him sadly, shaking her head. "Go."
"Just talk to me!" His tone was probably higher than he intended, making Aeanne jump. "No, sorry, I didn't meant to yell, I just-" He sighed heavily again, trying to collect himself. "Just talk to me, please. What did I do so wrong?"
"You're just-" She sighed anxiously, finding it hard to look at him. "You're you, and it's just so damn hard because you-! You..."
"I what?" He frowned.
"You!" She repeated. "You wear snapbacks and tank tops and shorts and it's just...why do you have to be so fucking perfect all the time?"
He looked at her with amusement hinting his eyes. He tried to fight it, but it was hard not to smile from her statement. She thought he was perfect and that was enough to brighten his day.
"I'm serious." She frowned when she caught him smiling.
"I know," he bit his lower lip, "I know you are. I just don't see what's so bad about what I'm wearing?"
"You like to show off." She said. "You like to show off and girls like seeing you show off, and you're you, and you're just so perfect because you're Niall Horan and it's just so fucking hard and awkward because I'm nothing to you because I'm...well, I'm just me."
"Exactly." He smiled, suddenly finding the courage to pull her close to him. "You're you."
"Yeah." She looked at him, biting her lip awkwardly. "That's what I said."
"You're you and I like you for that." He admitted, smiling softly.
"You what?" She croaked, almost choking.
"I like you." He laughed nervously, sweeping her bangs away from her face. "I like you a lot, Aeanne."
"I like you too." She mumbled.
"What?" He grinned teasingly. "I don't think I heard that."
"I said I like you too." She repeated, rolling her eyes.
"What?" He teased, cupping his ear. "I can't hear you."
"Stop playing!" She frowned, hitting him playfully.
"What did you say though?"
"I said I like you, goddammit!" She yelled, pushing him away slightly and making her way inside her house.
He followed her and shit the front door close, grinning from ear-to-ear. He had waited for a long time to hear those words come out of her mouth and here they are, on a hot sunny day in Rosewood, confessing their feelings for each other.
He followed Aeanne to the kitchen, unable to control his smile. She was quietly pouring the macaroni to the boiling water, smiling to herself. Just like Niall, Aeanne had waited for him to say he liked her too, and it finally came true.
Niall sneaked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. She turned around to face him, brown eyes meeting his blue ones. She smiled softly at him and he returned it, sticking his forehead with hers.
"So why did you leave the field?" He whispered.
"Because you kissed me." She bit her lip anxiously. "You kissed me and you fucked up because of that."
"Fucked up?"
She nodded, "you know just how to get me. You know exactly how to make me weak, it's so fucking annoying. I told myself over and over again that I wouldn't go back to you. I wouldn't be the eighth grade Aeanne anymore, but here I am, wrapped inside your arms."
"But I liked the eighth grade Aeanne." He protested.
"You liked hurting her too." She said bitterly, pulling away from him and getting two plates from the cabins.
"No." He shook his head, watching her. "I never enjoyed hurting you and if anything, it hurt me badly, knowing that I did that. Up to this point, it still hurts me that I did that to you. I hid you. Instead of being proud because I had the best girlfriend in the world, I lost you because I was fucking dumb enough to hide you."
"Niall, we were young," she sighed, putting even amounts of pasta on the plates and adding the cheese. "Let it go."
"I don't think I could, Aeanne." He walked towards her anxiously, taking his snapback off and rummaging his already messy hair. "I can't ever let you go."
"Obviously." She said, matter-of-factly.
"Can't we just start over?" He asked hopefully.
She just shrugged, turning to face him so she could hand him his macaroni. He quietly thanked her and she just nodded, going back to the cabins to get forks.
"I really do care about you, you know that, right?" He said, forcing to meet her nervous gaze.
"Yeah," she nibbled on the inside of her cheek, forcing a smile to him. "I care about you too, Niall."
Both of them decided to drop the subject and sit on the dining table, forks digging in the mountain of macaroni in front of them. When they were done, he helped her wash the dishes, then they headed to the living room to watch a movie.
"What do you wanna watch?" Aeanne asked, fumbling through her old box of DVDs.
"Depends on you, babe." He quickly covered his mouth with his hands, realizing what he just called her.
"I.." Her head shot up to meet him, smiling like an idiot. "Babe?"
"Sorry." He said sheepishly.
"It's fine." She laughed, popping Grease in the DVD player.
She scooted beside him on the couch and he absentmindedly wrapped his arms around her shoulders. She hesitantly rested her head on his chest, smelling both sweat and cologne from his tank.
Halfway through the movie, Aeanne fell asleep. Niall smiled slightly, playing with her hair gently. She smiled through her sleep, mumbling something that made Niall grin like an idiot.
"I love you, Niall," she yawned, "I never stopped."
"I love you too, Princess." He whispered, placing a soft kiss on her forehead.
Rosewood has always been a stressful place for both Aeanne and Niall, but coming back in it for a vacation and after the summer confessions they had told each other, maybe it wasn't so bad after all.
