I'm trying to move forward, as my colleague said in her blog, she is actually hands on, im still researching the net and thinking and over thinking. I need to put my thoughts into paper; as my tutor said I jumped to quick into the final piece without thinking through which is the best media, what will work best, etc. Based on my protection theme, going back to reviewing previous projects and keep playing with same artists I love; I face same ideas and armours designs at different eras and styles. Still my favourite is the Japanese one and doing some research on my native country and it's native people and how they work with clay and silver I found Mapuche art very interesting and realised there are so many beautiful pieces out there I could easily used as a starting point. I will get some easy dry clay to make few samples and see if I could put together a proper neck armour piece; more like a jewellery piece but based on armour and protection ideas. It protects but also makes you look beautiful. Checking Alexander McQueen fashion ideas for neck and shoulder pieces and how grand and wonderful they are I thought about some tiles hanging from neck or shoulder to drape down and going back up into other shoulder. Mini tiles that can be stick together with leather through holes in each one. Need to find best clay to make them Design a pattern ( Mapuche style) Produce them and see how big or how small they can be made Get leather and check if suitable to be hold on leather strings Otherwise they can be held together by a chain
