1.If you knew that tomorrow would be your last day on earth, what would you do and why?
Hmm. Honestly, try to lose my virginity because that's something I want to experience. I would tell everyone exactly what I think of them-I would go to the bitches in my life and call them out on exactly how terrible they are, and I would call every body I love and tell them that I love them and why I love them and that it's okay if I'm not there.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying and why?
Definitely never trying. This is from experience. I am constantly regretting things I haven't done or said because I was afraid of what would happen. It's a terrible feeling.
3. Name five of your favorite literary works.
...I've been waiting all my life for somebody to ask me this. These are in no particular order. Okay, honest to god, one of them is the Harry Potter series. It truly is beautifully written, and as I get older and reread it, I see more and more that I missed when I was younger. More than that, that series and the experiences around it are such a huge part of who I am today. A second is Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut. That book changed my life forever. When I read it, my views on war, people, and literature were irrevocably changed. I am an aspiring writer, and Vonnegut (of whose books I have read many since I first read Slaughterhouse) is one of my greatest influences especially style-wise. As a third, I'd like to include all of the rest of Vonnegut's work that I've read, including tons of novels and countless short stories. All of these works have had incredible impacts on my style and views, but I didn't include them with Slaughterhouse Five because that was the first of his works that I read and therefore probably had the greatest impact on me. A fourth? Probably Room by Emma Donaghue. IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THIS BOOK, DO SO. It is incredible. Reading it is like being knocked off your feet, being picked back up, and then getting slapped. I'm not describing it passed that, just read it. It don't know what the fifth is. It changes a lot, all of this changes a lot, except for perhaps HP and Slaughterhouse. Maybe The Giver, just because of its influence on my preferences for books in the rest of my life. It was the first "serious" book I read other than Harry Potter.
Jiminny Christmas, honey, I don't know. Do you mean doomed to hell? I'm a Jew, and I don't believe in Hell. Doomed to fail? That's my greatest fear. Doomed to fall in love? I certainly hope so.
5. I love having good conversations with people I care about. I did just that last night. I have a friend who I can tell anything. Last night we sat in a Starbucks for I don't know how long just talking about our lives and friends and feelings and I never thought I would find somebody like that in my school. So I guess another answer is "I love my friends".
Art is anything that is meant to evoke an emotional reaction through beauty or pure thought.
7. What worries you most about the future?
I plan to work in the film or television industry, probably as a writer, director, actress, and ideally as a combination of all of these things. I am constantly stricken with fear when I think of how hard it is to get a break in either of these industries. I'm afraid I'm going to waste away behind the counter of a Starbucks in LA. I refuse to let that happen. I just don't know how much of a choice I'll have.
8. Great Expectations- yay or nay and why?
I've never read it. I'm currently reading A Tale of Two Cities in English class, and I'm going to be honest when I say I find Dickens' language frustrating and hard to understand. When I say this, you have to understand something about me. I can say without bragging that I am very, very good with words. I got a 760 on the verbal portion of the SAT in eighth grade. I read Shakespeare for fun, but I find it hard to understand Dickens. That said, I'm not gunna discount it yet, that seems unfair.
9. Differentiate between living and existing.
Living-heart beating, brain functioning, lungs breathing. Existing- being able to enjoy the aforementioned conditions of life.
10. In the haste of your daily life, what are you not seeing?
I think the very nature of the question negates the answer: If I'm not seeing it, then I don't know what it is. That's some zen-riddle shit right there.
11. What is your biggest fear?
Why do you consider your best friend your best friend?
What are the two things you hate the most about your personality?
The work of fiction, regardless of genre, media, or when you first experienced it, that has the most influence on you.
The best decision you've ever made in your life, and the worst.
What is your main goal for the future and has this goal ever changed?
How do you define yourself, and how do you express whatever your definition is to others.
Something you love that you thought you would hate and/or something you hate that you thought you would love.
What is your biggest regret?
Who is the person in your life that you love most (be it platonic, romantic, familial, or what have you) and why?
Do you want to get married? Have children? Why or why not for both?
The single funniest thing that has ever happened to you.
