It was not often at all that Marik Ishtar received unexpected visitors--- never, in fact, as his siblings had always informed him as to when they might be passing by... So, who the hell could this be? At the sound of knuckles rapping loudly on his wooden door, the former tombkeeper furrowed his brows in the direction of the entryway, lingering a few seconds more upon the couch before uncrossing his legs and getting to his feet. Who was it that had approached his apartment at such an odd time of day--? Irritated at having his peace disturbed late into the evening, Marik grabbed the doorknob and gave it a forceful twist and tug, only to find himself entirely dumbfounded by the familiar face standing there opposite him.

That boy--- the Spirit’s host... Marik’s initial assumption was a logical one, but it took only a more attentive observation to know that he’d been wrong. It was him: the Spirit of the Ring. By what twist of fate had he managed to cling to his unearthly existence yet again? As Marik broke the silence, he shot the man a knowing look.
