“Spa day! Let’s go!” She is grabbing her bag as she leads the way to her car. No sense in letting Sam wear herself out too badly, besides she too needed a break, and what better way to do that then go to the spa and get their nails done.

❝ Oh my GOD, Sam, there is NO WAY that Superman could beat CAPTAIN AMERICA! LIKE–– NO, I will fight you on this. ❞

“Y’see? I think you are fuckin’ cool. I mean it’s a bit morbid, right?, but-- fuckin’ cool.” Linda clicks her tongue and bounces on her heels, eyes wide and bright. I wish I had cool-as-fuck powers like you, but that might make Samantha uncomfy, for whatever reason, so uh. Let’s not riskify it.
“ANYWAY! Follow-up to the other day --- flower crowns? Yah or nah?”

His head was silent, the magic that was forced into his brain sending sparks up his spine, causing an occasional twitch as he was drug away and tossed into a cell. As of right now he wasn’t really in his body, feeling as if he were floating above it.
He felt the presence though, the sudden fear filling him as the familiar hold of magic took hold of his mind, his limbs, and his voice. All he could do was fight in his head, kicking and screaming as best as one could. What could Lazaro want of him, and why now?

Another day cooped up inside the garage. Davey and Owen having head out a few hours earlier for a walk. Davey of course insisting that Chainey hadn’t built up enough strength to come with them just yet. Promising to bring him something back, and that he would come out with them soon.
He was almost beginning to think that they just didn’t want him around. Though he knew that was his anxiety talking, and had to remind himself that Davey was right, he needed rest. So he wasn’t surprised when Sam came in, apparently Davey had called her.
The aware pokes his head out of the kitchen, having busied himself with cleaning while they were gone, giving a small wave to Sam so she knew where he was. Then went back to washing the few dishes that were dirtied.
Three Times Terrified
davey can, in fact, experience fear!
ONE.
YOU ARE IN THE WHITE ROOM.
You are in the white room, and this time, YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
You have not looked up, but you can hear her, you can smell her, and SHE SCARES YOU. She is not like the guards: she doesn’t wear armour, she doesn’t carry a gun, she doesn’t–– SHE ISN’T AFRAID OF YOU. You can hear her heartbeat, slow and steady and calming, and you are confused.
YOU ARE SCARED.
WHY ISN’T SHE AFRAID OF YOU?
And she is kind, she is SO KIND, SO FUCKING KIND, and that scares you EVEN MORE.
At least with the guards, you know where you stand with them. MONSTER, ABOMINATION, BEAST, A THREAT, A THREAT, HE MUST BE PUT DOWN!
She is kind, and it T E R R I F I E S you.
TWO.
AFTER DOCTOR SUTTON, you do not trust anyone. She broke your trust, she USED you, and you no longer trust ANYONE at the institute.
Sam keeps trying to be your friend, and YOU HATE IT.
She wants something, you think, but you can’t HELP but want to believe her. You need someone here, you need someone on your side, and GOD, you want to trust her more than A N Y T H I N G.
She is different, you tell yourself, different from the rest of the rest of the people here –– –– –– she IS on your side, she IS, and you can trust her.
The little voice in your head, however, will not be silenced, and you still shy away from her touch. You still shut her out, you still FLINCH when she comes near you, and YOU DO NOT TRUST HER.
(Not yet, at least, not yet.)
THREE.
YOU RECOGNIZE THIS. The feeling –– –– it is the power of a necromancer, and the colour, the colour: this is SAM, this is YOUR FRIEND, this is your FAMILY, and SHE HAS PROVED YOU RIGHT.
She is not different, she has never BEEN different, and she has just been STUDYING you, USING you –– –– –– –– –
DID SHE EVER REALLY CARE?
You are terrified. She is HURTING HIM, SHE IS HURTING HIM, and you cry out –– DOES SHE CARE? IS SHE GOING TO STOP?
IS SHE LIKE THE REST OF THEM?
Your heart is shattering, breaking, and you are so, so afraid, and the walls are white––
You are in the white room, and this time, YOU ARE ALONE.
