I know grief effects people in so many ways but he forced his son into doing something that the kid didn’t want to and it led to his death

For me, finding this tape was the pinnacle of the story. There’s a quality of... something, that adds to the recording, whether it’s sorrow, or guilt,or exhaustion, or a little bit of everything. All in all, it’s just a very sad thing to observe, especially while Henry is experiencing his own isolation.
