Afraid to fall
I would not describe myself as a risk-taker. Never. That word does not go along with either my personality and/or my way of being, and it has been something that has always bothered me.
Being able to get out of your comfort zone is intrinsic for you to fully enjoy the thrill of life, and even when I am fully aware of that, I still cannot convince myself of doing that thing that I am dying to do, but completely scared of. What am I afraid of, though? Making a fool of myself is one thing. Looking as if I don't know what I'm doing, even when I really don't, is not something I am comfortable with either. I do not like to look as an inexperienced person, as if inexperience is a bad thing. Being in the spotlight is something that I am scared of too. And these things have managed to take control of me, and subject me to reject new experiences. But it's time for a wave of change. It's time to pop open a window, so that new airs adjust the atmosphere around me.
Today, I choose to not be afraid to fall. In fact, I choose to find new ways of falling, to learn how to stylishly fall. I will no longer let my fear, my shyness, or my social anxiety decide for me what I do, or what I don't do.
Today I decide to learn how to fearlessly fall, and I invite you to do the same thing.
