💮Pride Month Day 7: Diamoric💮
Diamoric is a word that some nonbinary people use to describe their orientation because similar/opposite gender attraction (homosexual/heterosexual) does not fit due to their nonbinary identity. It is also useful for nonbinary people who do not want to identify with an orientation that would imply the wrong gender such as "lesbian" (though there are nonbinary folxs who do use these terms and efforts to make these terms more inclusive). Diamoric also acts as an umbrella to many different, more specific, nonbinary orientations such as trixic (a nonbinary person who loves women).
Ask and ye shall receive. I have gotten requests to do a frog for many different orientations, but the diamoric flag got the most by far. Frogs are a suitable animal for this flag-- and not just for the colors. Metamorphosis of tadpole to frog is symbolic of a nonbinary person's transition (socially or otherwise). Keeping with the ancient Greek inspiration of the last two flags, "The Frogs" is a play featuring Dionysus. Dionysus is a Greek god who could be interpreted as being nonbinary.
This little frog is available for purchase! Please contact me if you are interested.
