I am so excited for how this is turning out! I’m also really excited to take more risks with the cordonnet!
There’s a new stitch I’ve been loving as a border but it doesn’t work with embroidery floss—the ply is loose, so the thread will unply and knot and I will have to cut it out. I’m really excited to use it in other projects so I can show it off though!
I *loved* the look of the maroon thread but it doesn’t show up well on camera and the variegated thread looks *much, much* better as the border than I expected!
I might post some initial sketches of the project I got it for so people can see how I envisioned the final product
I sped up this process for financial reasons but those actually cleared up naturally so I think I’m going to design a final product for this and go back to working on my other long-term projects if people aren’t interested in this (and that’s fine, also). I was really planning to do this in tandem with the project it’s leftover from and I’m glad to experiment and share results.
I’ll be updating on this as well as well as posting progress reports on my long-term projects soon!

Also I tried a method to make the cordonnet look more messy (was going for tufted yarn) but I’m not sure I like it
I made it to another #wip Wednesday
It’s definitely in the “trust the process” stage
Also there are so many ways to work around difficult curves and I seem to have found ways to mess up all of them
Currently I am working on needle lace greeting cards so I have professional-ish samples to show as well as Christmas gifts (I will be posting some non-personal photos of the sketches when I am more proud of them)
But first I’m swatching threads and fabrics and it’s… well it’s going
