I have to say though that there was specifically a time when I was 12 that I was comfortable enough with vaccines that I volunteered to get my vaccine first in front of my siblings to help reassure them that it wasn't scary

Immediately afterward, my little brother got a little tearful and frightened and I watched as the nurses immediately responded to this by pinning him down against the table and giving him the shots while he screamed.

It took TEN FUCKING YEARS to regain the comfort level I'd had five minutes prior to watching that
