I went to look to see if all my test results were in and realized that the blood work place fucking didn't do some of the tests for no discernible reason. So now I have to go back to the lab that stuck me twice and left me with bad bruising and told me it was my fault even though I was hydrated and ask them to use me like a pin cushion again. I hate being disabled.

idk why i’m so terrified of blood draws i think it’s just such a primal fear, even though it’s always fine i genuinely will melt down and pass out, even having a doctor mention me needing to do it will have me shaking and bursting into tears. i know im entirely fine but no matter how logical i am i think i just go into extreme fight or flight. i think im just so aware of the concept of something digging into my vein it shatters my willpower. even writing about it makes me want to squirm and pace around

shoutout to my doctor for taking me seriously when i said i have severe anxiety attacks when getting blood work done and actually gave me ativan for it

I looked up why my hand bruised so badly after blood work and apparently they're supposed to put pressure on it when they take the needle out. Like every time you get blood work. The blood work place I usually go to uses what I only know as vet wrap. It's that stretchy cloth bandage that only adheres to itself, and they wrap it super tight. The place I went to this past time (which everyone raves about as being a great place to get blood work done) used actual tape, like masking tape. It didn't apply adequate pressure to prevent bruising.

Hey so you know how I said "I'm hydrating so they can't blame the blood work going poorly on me". They still did. Apparently the veins in my hand are "too small" to take blood from and it's my fault they had to stick me twice because I wouldn't let her take blood from my arm. Nothing to do with the fact that the first phlebotomist used a vein that no one in my many years of getting blood work has ever used. Nothing to do with the fact that I TOLD HER they have an easier time getting blood from my other hand but trusted her judgment when she chose to use the hand that is visibly more difficult. No it's my fault for asking her to take blood in a way that's completely normal and accepted but not what she's used to. I fucking give up on having an "easy" time at this point.
