Week 8 – Crowdsourcing in times of Crisis https://prezi.com/m/uzsqjykbuvs9/assessment-two-presentation-crowd-sourcing-in-times-of-crisis/ This week’s presentation was my teams turn, I’ve heard seen and viewed different types of crowdfunding over social media platforms. Even thought at times creating one for other people and laughed at others efforts to purchase certain items. Some had great intentions and others were slammed and criticised over false claims. You can find plenty online at www.gofundme.com The concept of crowdsourcing online is general is to ask out into the World Wide Web for help by having total strangers, friends and family to contribute services, work and help or by way of financial means. Good examples I have seen are funding raising for a QLD man with debilitating Multiple Sclerosis, the intention was to raise funds to fly to Russia for ground breaking treatment to stop or reverse some of the MS side effects. https://aaronattacksms.com Bad examples I have seen are people being accused of lying in order to receive something for nothing on a smaller scale. Facebook posts wanting donations for things claiming they are single and have numerous children, general public are commenting and offering things, money clothing etc to see the same people post numerous times over a period time. In some cases people notice the regular posts asking for help and the circumstances change each time.
