The first time you met him, both you and Diluc does not have any opinions toward each other. Though, things change as you start to progress further into the archon quest. With him sheltering both the traveller and Venti from the pursuing knights with no questions asked, and his willingness to help with retrieving the stolen lyre back, Your impression of him is immediately on the good side. It doesn't help when you get to play as him in the domain. You find his playstyle very compatible with yours. It was simple and you, were hooked.
For Diluc, he finds his co-operation with you to be pleasant. You don't really ask a lot of questions or spend to much time on useless planning. A person of action, he supposes. The first time he notices his favourable opinion of you is when he met you for the second time as the dark knight hero.
He knows that you are doing the Favonius dirty work.
"I had a hunch" He heard you mutter as he revealed himself to you.
Surprisingly, he did not mind you knowing his secret identity. Normally, he would tell the person to keep it a secret and let his agents deal with securing their secrecy later. You offer your help to him and he agrees.
It was the little things that made him attached to you, so when you pulled for your first five star, he did not appear on your screen. Because, how could he? He wouldn't be so ungentlemanly as to appear before you instead of the one you want. Well, he doesn't want to be an unwelcome addition to your roster after all. Even after the astrologer, the zombie, the Liyue yuheng and his childhood friend all came to you, he alone didn't "come home"; as you call it
He always see you running around the city, sometimes in his winery doing commissions, helping the people. You didn't see him though. Tevat made sure you didn't, in fact the world took weird measures for you not to see any vision bearers while you're playing normally. So that is why heard you. You were yelling to yourself.
"Ugh, come on. Why don't this domain gives me a good crimson witch artifacts for once!?"
He assumed that you were farming some artifacts for one of your pyro vision bearers. Of course it wouldn't be for him. You don't even have him in your roster, how could it be for him? But yet, deep in his heart he hoped that it was in fact his artifact.
Although his assumption is soon proven wrong just a few days later. He heard you talking to a merchant in you world while your team is at dawn winery.
"Oh, but what about the owner of the winery? We still have the cushions in stock"
"Ah no thanks, I'm still upset at him for not showing up in any of my pulls yet"

Diluc has never heard you be that pouty before. At the same time he could not stop the joy in his chest nor the chuckle that bubbled in his throat.
