idk why for the past years, i've been torturing myself watching this show. anything past season two. or maybe even season one is ASS.

... as in anything to do with Henry's parents. They definitely wrote them worse, i swear on my LIFE. Am I crazy?

Most people don't consider anything past season 3 to be canon, and while I like season three... yeah... I don't think of henry's parents being that shitty. It's so exaggerated, it pisses me the fuck off.

Sure, they get mad at him sometimes. But I see them more as like, exhausted and they only get super mad if they have told him off mutiple times and he won't listen or whatever the fuck.

But, otherwise, they're chiller then how they are in the later seasons. yknow? Because I can't bring myself to think of that as actually them, because it's so dumb.

I know as a whole. the show is exaggerated. But, the parent's shouldn't be over the top abusive.

They're parents in the 2000s who have a stubborn child. Have they learned better than what they've been taught from how they grew up? Probably not.

This show is pure ragebait. From both sides. Like, the first two seasons, Henry's the annoying one, and the parents are simply reacting to that "accordingly."

Then, season three, henry's still annoying, but so are the parents. VERY. They are both in the wrong most of the time and they're both stupid.

Then season four & five roll around. And Henry's too nice while the parents are still the over the top shitty selves they turned into back in season three. And god that just makes it even worse.

I might be wrong btw. because i haven't watched the full show (rather off myself) but ehh... tell me off or whatever.

What gets me is that Missa through out the whole streams he appeared in tonight, kept mentioning he doesn’t want to kill. He just wants to be friends with everyone again. And the moment he went AFK- Foolish immediately killed him. HELL Missa even asked foolish if he could kill him for points HE WAS UPFRONT WITH IT. Just wanting it over with- and he was killed for it. Dude wasn’t even involved with the whole attacking side DUDE a literally spent the first day alone or farming apples. Then he had to listen in his whole team yell at each other in discord. I’m just saying don’t expect Missa to stream as much you would like. Dude probs will only stream once during the finale and maybe help Tina offline. Missa deserves a break because holy hell that was rough to watch (no hate to the CCs but Missa isn’t really suited for the event- dude kept literally saying he doesn’t want to kill anyone)

theres also like, a blorbo-ification a la ghostbur of somewhat autistic coded characters like cucurucho (yes its autistic coded, though. i wouldnt headcanon it as such, but common autism coding in media = robotic, struggles with emotions, partially verbal, cutesy and childlike i.e. bubbles, cute lil face etc) where their capacity for hurt and evil IS taken away by fandom. Which does not treat autistic coded characters like they should be treated, like someone with the capacity for both good and evil.

"but he's just a little guy" << in fandom and in light-hearted viewings of the material, yes, but when you want to dig into the material, to do deep analysis, treating any of these people like this isn't helpful, its falling for the trick. you can still say "he's just a little guy" but you have to acknowledge he's not proven to be a good, just, kind person.

i am of course speaking in the most emotional, deep, and close reading of the qsmp, you can still have fun, you can say I'm "taking it too seriously" but thats fine, I am looking at this work through my personal lense. and that means, when i see people diminishing the harm of evil, it can upset me.

TLDR: the federation workers, even cucurucho are treated as less evil than they are by the fandom, by design of the story, but the fandom is falling for that manipulation. they are cute because its meant to trip you up. also please stop justifying autistic-coded characters bad actions with thinly veiled ableism.

Is so, so much easier to process! There's v little bgm and it's never too loud that it distracts me. There's not too many people, so there's never so much clamour people get drowned out by each other. The episodes are nice n bitesized, from 44 mins to 2 hours or so. Entirely audio, so I don't need to also be paying attention to my screen. It's just so much easier to absorb all the information!

And I love crit role but like

It takes so long, all the episodes are so much higher energy to focus on, I need captions on screen and sometimes the music or sound effects bug me

When Matt stops talking mid sentence to make a monster noise. Like!!! Save it til the end of the sentence please it's so abrasive aaaa they're rly good noises and v accurate and I get that Ur a voice actor n all but please....finish Ur sentence before making monster noises....
