Fight False History
They are the Apostles of False History. They swarm our social media, attack those who hold true scholarship, generalize all opposition as "Noytards," and justify with whatever means the cruelties and atrocities committed under the Marcos regime, all of which have been proven by credible, empirical evidence.
Don't attempt to argue with them, even if you are armed with facts. They have abandoned all reason. They only have one thing in mind: to glorify their messiah, and look back at their imaginary "golden age" where people live in fear and false security. They only have one goal: to dominate the opinions of the youth, prying on their frustrations, and feeding them with twisted information.
Convince them otherwise and you'll be attacked ad hominem style.
Today was a new low for them, for they have defaced the EDSA People Power Monument, a national monument of the People.

Their techniques are nothing new.
Project Gutenberg identifies these revisionist techniques:
(1) DECEPTION: “offensively using falsified information, lying, and obscuring the truth to manipulate information or opinion.”
(2) DENIAL: “defensively protecting information from being shared or claiming facts are untrue. Protection can include both physical security, and prevention techniques such as blame shifting, censorship, distraction, and media manipulation.”
(3) RELATIVIZATION AND TRIVIALIZATION: “Comparing certain historical atrocities to other crimes... in order to alter the public perception of the first atrocity.”
These techniques have been applied to Nazi revisionism, Japanese war crimes, Armenian, and Cambodian genocide, Chinese expansionism in South China Sea, and Western colonialism in Asia and Africa. Historians around the world are committed to keep them at bay.
These same horde, that of keyboard warriors and Marcos fanatics, are hopeless cases.
Ignore them. As the Good Book said, “Don’t cast your pearls before pigs.”
Turn your eyes instead to the unconvinced. To those sitting on the fence, the undecided, who need to be informed. They are those who are still open to the undeniable truth and the weight of evidence that shall exist even after this election. Let us turn to them and plead with them, convince them with hard facts.
We historians feel this burden.
Help us. Be involved.
Evidences are on the internet and in numerous books and peer-reviewed journals. International correspondents have documented the Marcos loot, the abuses, the human rights violations. I no longer care who wins this election. I only care about which narrative will win. The fight is in the mind. And I’m still rooting for the narrative that is founded on truth and justice.
