I install my show Thursday night @ #NegativeSpaceGallery in #Cleveland! My next solo show will be up for the month of July. *Closing* reception July 26th from 5-7 followed by an open mic. * The temptation we feel when we’re standing on the edge of a cliff to take a step forwards and fall into oblivion is called ‘#L’appelDuVide’. When translated into English, it means ‘#CallOfTheVoid’. The idea put forward by Sigmund Freud of a “#death wish” where he stated that ‘everything living dies for internal reasons’ and ‘the aim of all life is death’ could explain the impulse to jump off of high places. It is proposed that the phenomenon actually demonstrates the strength of the survival instinct. * Does this #art call you to the edge? Does it inspire you to jump? Or does it light your soul ablaze as our ancestors once did when they filled their imaginations with stories on how the universe was created. #Recherche’ is a term I use to describe most of my work. It means rare, exotic, or obscure. I invite you to dance with darkness, become entangled in your own story, summon the demons of your nightmares and explore new worlds. Baroquesque bodies fill the canvas and entice viewers to become voyers of the moment. Let death tempt you however briefly and face your mortality. * I attempt to penetrate your imagination. The goal is for you to remember why you dream and remind you that life is short. Invoke the magick that has been missing since your childhood.
