Neil Biggin - Zool CD32, Track 2
An Interview with Neil Biggin
(to paraphrase the intro of this video), when making my Artist Features, I talk to the artist if I can.
usually I'll try to compile those chats into an article format, but this time, I wanted to try a radio interview style, so you can get Neil Biggin's Story in his own words
I think it worked out quite nicely. enjoy!
(1995) Full Throttle Racing
a bit cheesy, but hey it bangs!
Artist Feature #20: Neil Biggin
Neil Biggin forged his skills in the epicenter of an explosive growth of innovative electronic music. He brought this cool new sound into the realm of video games with his short but eventful time at Gremlin. Let's listen!
(1995) Jungle Strike
this matches the genesis version but is ...better? question mark?
i wasn’t a fan of the Genesis version, and this one’s also pretty rough...
“Game Over” is probably the strongest track? imo at least
(1994) Newman Haas IndyCar featuring Nigel Mansell
i like Neil Biggin’s work but this one kinda suffers from being on the SNES. cheesy synth samples ahoy.
“Racing” is still good tho gdi
(1995) Top Gear 3000
the samples kinda kill this one. just a bit.
“Results” is the standout, mostly for avoiding that xylophone sample. but also because it’s a lovely melody and groove
