Seriously, they were taking this coddling thing a bit too far.

About a week ago, Neji was unfortunate enough to have been in the line of fire of an explosive tag. Even if his Byakugan was able to see it, his legs were not fast enough, and he ended up fracturing his right forearm. Sakura was adamant about letting him heal naturally, as the fracture site was a bit too delicate for chakra-assisted surgery. 

Tsunade took one slightly pitying look at him and declared him unfit for duty for the next month. In order to avoid the Hyuugas’ ire, he was relegated to serving as a... companion for the Kazekage and his entourage, as they were in the midst of some negotiations. When he raised his voice at her, saying that he could definitely fight even without his arms, Tsunade threatened to have him serve as a teacher at the Academy. That effectively shut him up and forced him to resign to his fate.

He sighed and chanced a glance at the clock in the Hokage’s office, where he had been spending the past hour waiting for them to arrive. Sure, he was early, but he supposed it was far better than having any chance of being late. He rolled his shoulders back and gingerly leaned against the back of his chair, trying to avoid Shizune’s worried glances at the cast on his arm.
