When I wake up in the morning and there is no yo kai watch on tv.
The sun beat down on my tan face. I smiled as the blood in my cheeks became warm. My legs pumped through the water beneath me and I twirled in the shifted gravity. I could see the blur of Josh swimming towards me; his hand snaked around my ankle and I calmly twisted free from him. I dove into the underwater world and rippled my body to the other side of the pool. When I surfaced, I found myself within the small pool float fort Neko and I had constructed earlier. The whole area was tinted with various colors as the sun bore through the plastics.
While I was absorbed in the scenery, Neko popped up next to me. "Hey." I smiled and stared at his hazel eyes. Out of the corner of my vision I could see his body under the water shifting to keep himself afloat. The next thing I know his right hand was under my cheek. Time froze while my heart melted. His being flowed closer to mine and his lips met mine. The taste of stale chlorine permeated my mouth; his tongue was not far behind. It was the most beautiful taste I had known. The moment lasted longer than I could have imagined. Our tongues mingled while our bodies did the same. The water made a nice buffer for our movements and our limbs were sliding next to each other, granting Neko more grace than he truly had.
When the moment finally came for us to depart, Neko's eyes were filled with the same watery kindness that drowned my heart. Neko had taken, no he gave me my first kiss. This was something that would never cease to exist with an undoubted boldness in my mind. The only words, the only sound in the world was the purity of his voice as he said my name.
"Nina."
