NICE. But hold up, just imagine that Sycamore's s/o suggests going for a run and let's be honest, this man is bad at any sport. Yet he accepts 'cause in love. After 30min he's beyond EXHAUSTED and nearly out of air, like he's in hell. Next time they'll just stay home and take a nap.

Professor Sycamore versus Pregnancy
Round 1Ā (the first twelve weeks)
- Sycamore honestly just thinks that his S/O is sick when he catches them with their head shoved halfway down the toilet, and is genuinely concerned but when it stops after a few days, he writes it off as the fluwhen it happens a few days every week tho, heās likeĀ āwe gotta go to the doctorā like this manās doctorate is useless. he is a doctor in cute animals not people problems. His S/O talks him down from a doctors visit but he still brings them a bunch of vitamins and like anti-nausea medicines until the sickness seems to go away after a month or so and he forgets about it.
- When his S/O starts tossing and turning in the night, Sycamore is quick to figure out that their need for cuddling has gone way up - he loves it but he worries about his S/Oās sleep cycle and health when heās away at conferences and has to pull all-nighters at the lab. Of course, he just thinks itās that theyāre just getting closer as a couple.
- To be honest, both of them might be in the dark at this point, but so far,Sycamore Status: Oblivious as Hell
Round 2!!(the next 16 weeks)
- Ā Sycamore notices his S/O gaining some weight but is literally likeĀ āgood. they are eating well.ā Heās got grandma goggles with S/O, if you know what I mean, the kind of partner who is constantly fighting his need to feed and take care of his S/O. When they bring it up, he is quick to reassure them he loves everything about them, but doesnāt get why his S/O is just laughing at him when he says it.
- When the weird cravings kick in he just thinks theyāre finally willing to try theĀ āfinerā kalosian/poke french food that most self respecting people wouldnāt put anywhere near their mouths. When they gag at his typical home cooking, he wonders if their palate has just evolved too quickly for him to keep up with.
- Gross but, when his S/O is having to get up multiple times a night to pee, heās just likeĀ āur drinking too much water ho stay dehydrated so we can get some sleepā but just kinda has weird dreams but nothing else really.
- Finds his S/O one day after work sobbing on the couch, just watching the kid tv show channels and is just??? confused but pats them on the back until they calm down enough he can turn the tv off and cook dinner
- Honestly doesnāt get it until his S/O grabs his hand and just puts it on their stomach when the baby is kicking - This Is What Kills The Man
- He just starts crying obviously and kissing his beautiful S/O and is just likeĀ ācan i touch it???ā and they are likeĀ āu already rā and heās the kind of dude who will drop down to his knees and start putting little kisses on their belly and talking to it (āi love u!ā and no one knows if itās to the baby or S/O lmao)
- Tells EVERYONE. His students, the assistants, his hairdresser, your plants, and constantly likeĀ āiām dad??? iām dad!!!ā and grinning all over town like an absolute fool - its infectious and literally all of lumiose knows about this baby and is sending cards and shit

Round 3!!!(the last 12 weeks)
- Sycamore is just in a state of very researching typical panic. Heās stressed out and trying to buy everyĀ āwhat to expect when youāre expecting :^)ā book out there and is putting together the most common advice in a very dry survival guide/instructional manual to make sure heās doing everything right
- His lab is constantly trying to page him because he may have paternity leave, but he dead ass forgot to let anyone know he was taking it and literally just stopped coming to work.
- On first name basis with the local maternity/babies r us stores because just when he thinks heās babyproofed it all he finds another hazard or another thing his child definitelyĀ āneedsā in a catalogue and goes racing back to the store the next day. (does his baby have aĀ āyour first bunsen burnerā playset? maybe so, maybe so.)
- The mood swings have really begun, but they arenāt violent mood swings or nothing. His S/O just cries all the time and heās so beside himself with what to do because theyāre likeĀ āi know that i am sobbing but i swear iām fine. its the baby, i know that this can of peas is nothing to cry over i promiseā but theyāre all gross and sad about it still so heās just likeĀ āi uh love u???ā and eventually just learns that crying is just a new state of being for his poor S/O and just to be there for them while they calm down.
- The last few weeks before the baby is born, heās spends hours holding his S/Oās stomach and talking to the baby and stuff. He really wants to be connected to both his partner and the baby through the pregnancy and wants them both to know he loves them? So much?

Bonus! Birth!
- The S/O was admitted before the birth, because Sycamore is a worry wart and didnāt want to have to leave it to chance where they were/what was going on when the delivery started, but heās still an anxious man
- A Big Weenie, who canāt take the sight of his S/O being in pain or blood so heās trying to be there while also not fainting at the overwhelming sight of uh everything lol
- the waiting room is filled with just everyone theyāve ever met basically and they all brought gifts for the S/O and baby and did Sycamore cry? U betcha
- When the baby is born, all the stress and adrenaline just kind of leaves both the parents and theyāre just kind of exhausted but relieved like they canāt believe that theyāve made it?
- True Ending is Sycamore letās his S/O hold and nurse the baby first before holding them, but Good Ending mandates that heās the first one to hold the baby and he breaks down and cries, and that makes the baby cry which makes the emotional hormone addled S/O cryThatās the first family photo, courtesy of the nurse (who won the draw to deliver the baby, literally everyone loves this family in lumiose, i cannot stress this enough)
Ok when I saw that Sycamore would be so into 80's music I remembered an old headcanon that he likes 20's music and would be an expert in dancing swing. He's lanky and probably has swift moves. (yet at the same time I think he's a terrible dancer lmao)

Probably listens to Edith Piaf, and similar artists but eventually got into the popular dance music of the 20ā²s when he gets older.
Heās actually really into the fluid movements and the romanticism of it all, but he doesnāt take classes until heās almost 30. Everyone else is either theater/dance kids or elderly people, and heās the class favorite bc, I mean, look at that face.Ā
He definitely can do the moves and croon along to the songs as well as anyone but... thereās just something that, no matter how good his moves are, everyone feels like theyāre watching a trainwreck. Very eldritch vibes coming from this white boy. Eventually it looks...better, but he still hasnāt graduated the class lmao. Ā You cannot find him on Wednesday evenings because he is constantly at that studio, and his weekends are booked by cute old people who want him to have tea or something.
He probably just does the white boy sway when heās not specifically swing dancing, or some cheesy bad version of the foxtrot when heās trying to dance with someone who doesnāt know how to swing dance (which is almost everyone, except for a few select dancers or hipsters - TIERNO).Ā

(being honest i feel bad cause i feel like im a sycamore stan but wtf a scenario crossed my mind?? Here letās pretend that him and reader share an apartment like good friends.)
One night this man is just plain drunk with wine, he probably got out some bottles out of boredom since Reader is getting late from work. Jazz music is playing on the gramophone near the table, and the rhythm of it is already making Augustine feelsy, and regretting the wine for making it more confusing to him if he should confess his feelings or not.
A year has passed since them and Sycamore moved in, the place was located near work so it was perfect. After months of sharing time and conversations together this made his heart flutter. Augustine waited and waited, he didnāt wanted to make this really awkward for both and got afraid that them would move somewhere else once the truth was out.
The click of the door got him out of his thoughts.
āAugustine?ā, they said after looking at the glass and bottles on the table.
āI-Iām sorry. Couldnāt sleepā, he groaned while rubbing his tired eyes and left the couch.
On itās way to his bedroom his legs betrayed him and made him trip, almost falling but being saved by grabbing the couch. Shocked, Reader helped the professor back on his feet.

Out not nothing Augustine starts to laugh frantically making them a bit scared and before anything else happens, Sycamore begins to talk.

Hours later Reader decided to check on him to find that, luckily, Sycamore fell asleep.Ā They sat beside him on the mattress, twirling their fingers between his curls.
