did yall know great hammerhead sharks can hunt their prey, usually rays, small sharks, bony fish, and squid by picking up faint electrical signals in the sand with electroreception? they use their heads kind of like metal detectors and swing it back and forth as the swim, and their heads have special sensors called ampullae of Lorenzini which actually pick up the electrical signals from the muscles of their prey moving!

Holy shit im a whole year clean today! Normally wouldn’t post about that stuff but I js can’t believe I made a whole year so. Yay!
ive been doing a shit ton of diy projects bc its summer so heres a little photo dump
we got:
-hoodie with massive patches that i did entirely by hand. including sewing. my back hurts but it was worth it
-orca skeleton bleach painted t shirt! not exactly accurate but pretty damn close and idk any orca experts so it works
-moved my fish patch onto some jorts and altered them a bit
-more patches on my jacket! more to come as well ofc
-sleater-kinney shirt that im gonna give my dad for his birthday
-glow in the dark luciferin bracelet! (the light-emitting compound in chemcially based bioluminescence. yes i am a bit of a nerd sue me)
