They both work in marketing, right? 🤔 So they work for rival companies! And to make it more fun let’s make them both the bosses!
You work for Frank, but Nelson hears from a little birdie that you’re quite the asset to the company and so, of course, he wants you to work for him instead so he sends you an offer including a better salary and benefits. You’re tempted but also you’re loyal to Frank and his company (and you’ve got feelings for him but you keep those to yourself because you’re sure they’re not reciprocated.)
Frank is emotionally constipated, he reciprocates your feelings but you’d never be able to tell, plus he doesn’t want to feel as though he’s being inappropriate since he’s your boss…
Let’s say after you decline Nelson’s generous offer, he invites you to dinner to negotiate and at first you don’t want to accept but then you figure that you can’t deprive yourself of better opportunities just because you’ve got feelings for your boss who (you believe) doesn’t feel the same.
Not only does Nelson offer you an even higher salary and more benefits at the dinner but he also charms the panties off you! 🤭
Idk how Frank finds out about this but obviously he’s extremely jealous but knowing him he’d probably become even more closed off and cold and when you hand in your notice, you’d expect him to put up a fight to keep you, after all you’re so good a rival company has snatched you up but he doesn’t seem sorry to see you go at all. Little do you know he’s an emotionally challenged idiot who probably couldn’t make a love declaration if his life depended on it 😭
But we couldn’t leave it there! Frank has to get over himself and as you work your two weeks notice, he’s got to pluck up the courage to not let you walk out of his life for good!
He’s just afraid of being vulnerable and letting his heart get broken 😭
